Perfect dessert for the final - Tarte aux pommes for
Belated but we made it - the pâte brisée feels more rough puff, no calvados so had to replace with brandy however there’s no soggy bottom and spongy frangipane so ~ a win is a win 🍏
Helpfully caught attempt and advice before trying out recipe - added in a 15 minute second bake to set the frangipane before layering on the apples (and slicing my thumb on the mandoline in the process).

Celebratory date night 💘
Started with dinner and drinks - we ordered the sharing platter with duck curry, fish cakes and these fab Thai churros with condensed milk. Also ft a lemongrass / chilli margarita 😍
We then headed onto for some cocktails - faves were the track 6 (Sundried tomato gin with lime tonic) and a freestyle amaro led cocktail for Jem 💯

Jem’s birthday week ❤️

• Started with a trip to Six by Nico for a Sicilian tasting menu - I was on a night shift for his birthday so razzled it up with a T-bone steak platter for dinner/breakfast 🌟
• As part of his gift surprise (interrailing tickets) I made an Italian theme night as part of a group ‘Come Dine with Me’ whilst in Findochty - revealing that it was inspired by the cities planned for the travel route in October - Lyon, Venice, Florence, Bologna & Sicily 🚂 Trip suggestions welcome!

- Basil and garlic infused oil schiacciata
