We are back with a new episode to talk about the aftermath of coming out.

If you listened last time, you know we come from a very religious background, so this wasn’t easy. Erika and Kaeli both share about this past week- the week after coming out. They share about their expectations before coming out, the reality that hit this past week and their thoughts on it all.

We want to thank everyone who messaged us with your positive and affirming messages. You definitely made this week so much better than it might have been. You made a difference.

Stay with us, as over the next few weeks we dive farther into the responses that we got and our thoughts, LGBTQ2IA+ and religion and the parent side of things, and we will probably think of more along the way.

Happy Pride Month!🏳️‍🌈
We are back with a new episode on coming out. We discuss what it has been like to grow up in a very religious family/community and how Erika and Kaeli both came out. They both bring us through their journey to discover who they really were and how it has been for them since coming out. This episode is also in celebration of Pride Month, and we will be doing a series the whole month of June on what it like to be LGBTQ+ and very religious.
Please Note: We will NOT tolerate any hate or harmful speech on any of our socials and this includes “hate the sin, love the sinner”. LGBTQ+ people will be safe in this space and on all our social media spaces. This is a space to celebrate, affirm, and show some true love. Thank you for listening! Link to podcast in first comment

Episode 12 drops tomorrow.
What About R**e Culture.
The following slides are screenshots from of real people sharing their stories. These pages are only pieces of those stories, but they are the parts that show examples of r**e culture. One of the most important steps in breaking down r**e culture is calling it out.

Ok so I hope you have notifications turned on and you are subscribed to our YouTube channel or podcast channel because we forgot to post our 11th episode here. Here it is though.... link to YouTube in comments.
What About Consent?
(Trigger warning)
This is a big and very important topic and it actually starts from very young.
Did you ever have to hug someone you didn’t feel comfortable hugging? Have you ever had someone come up and just touch you- pregnant women, hello! Have you ever felt you couldn’t say anything because you would create a scene or there would be repercussions?
What exactly is consent?
One of the resources Erika found is FRIES - Freely given, Reversible, Informed, Enthusiastic, Specific.

We talk about all of this and more, like even addressing what is in the newly proposed Alberta curriculum on consent.

We would appreciate your listens, shares and subscribing. ♥️

Our 10th episode is out - What About Difficult Women?

If you dress up or wear make up you are trying to get attention and trying too hard, yet if you wear sweats, a hat or no make up, you aren’t taking care of yourself.

We talk about the zero sum game we as women are in and yet we end with a practical take away for how we can change things.

Episode 9 is out - “What About Sin...”
In this episode we talk about the paradoxes of sin and teachings in the church. One example is how we are born sinners yet we are created in God’s image. hmmm...
We also ask the question- what would it look like if we were actually encouraged to have a personal relationship with God?

Episode 8 is out just in time for the end of Endometriosis awareness month! We tell our stories living with it and how you can help, even if you don’t know anything about it.

Globally there is an estimated 1 in 10 women who live with Endometriosis. It takes an average of 7 years to be diagnosed. For Rachelle, it was over 30. There is no cure. Of the 5 girls in our family, 3 are already diagnosed and the odds are good the other 2 will be as well.

The symptoms of endo include painful periods, painful ovulation, pain during or after sexual in*******se, heavy bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, fatigue and infertility, and can impact on general physical, mental and social well being.

Thank you for listening and sharing. We appreciate your support. 💛

Episode 4 is out now!
This week we continue our conversation from last week on purity culture. We discuss some of the messaging us as women have received such as, chewed up gum, purity rings, and “modest” clothing. We also discuss how these messages have affected us throughout our lives and give some advice on how to prevent these outcomes in the future.

Hey I’m Kaeli and I’m in grade 12 at Scona. I’m a musician, I’ve been writing and singing for most of my life and my goal is to make a career out of it. I’ve dealt with health issues since I was 5 and I’ve dealt with mental health issues for a long time which I write about a lot. I really just wanna be able to share my music and have it open up conversations with people who need someone to listen and understand.
I am super passionate about politics and social justice issues which is why I’m super excited to talk to new people about these issues!

Hello my name is Gillian I’m the youngest out of all of us doing this podcast. I’m in grade 9 and I’m going to Scona next year. If you watch any of our podcasts or YouTube videos you will probably see/hear that I don’t talk very much but I love to be apart of the conversations still. I’m the middle child of the five kids in our family so that’s fun.👍 I don’t really now what else to say so.👍👍👍

Hey I’m Erika. I graduated high school just over 3 years ago and ever since I have been figuring out how life works with health issues. When I was 8 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and ever since then, I have been dealing with serious health issues that greatly impact how I live my life. My biggest goal currently is to use my story dealing with invisible illnesses including mental health stuff to bring more awareness. I have seen from experience how hidden people like me with invisible illnesses are, and I would love to help create more empathy and understanding in our would for us. I am currently beginning to share on my personal social media and I will also be sharing a lot of my journey here on this podcast. I’m so excited for you all come along this journey of starting “hard to have” conversations. 😊

Introducing each of us on the podcast.
I’m the mom. Some call me Rachelle or Mama Rachelle or Mama Morris. I have been married almost 25 years and have 5 kids. I’m so excited to do this podcast with my 3 oldest daughters! I grew up a pastor’s kid. I taught in the public school system before kids then have been homeschooling for over 17 years. I am now an emotional intelligence coach. I work with individuals of every age as well as families and even teams. The title and framework for this podcast comes out of my emotional intelligence work. I love having these conversations with my kids and am excited to share them with you. One thing I can say... this will be an exciting and interesting journey. Glad you are here.

Welcome to the Wait, What? podcast! We’re so excited to finally be revealing our latest project with you. We will be questioning and deconstructing the ideas that have influenced us and the way we see the world, and figuring out how to move forward. You will get a peek into our family’s daily existential crises through this unedited podcast that is just a conversation between the 4 of us. We are creating this as a safe space for everyone to question their own ideas and beliefs, and more importantly creating a safe space for people that have been harmed by these beliefs.
Our first episode will be released on all platforms on Monday, February 1 and we will release a new episode each Monday!
