From April 1, 2024, Spotify will charge artists per track when a high level of fake streaming is discovered on their content.
Under the new rules, Spotify will charge 10 EU / USD 10.82 when the majority of a song's streams are fraudulent. The rules are in addition to other actions Spotify takes when fake streams are discovered,
including, in some cases, removal.

Each track on Spotify must have received at least 1,000 streams in the previous 12 months to generate recorded royalties.

MBW has confirmed that Spotify is planning to make significant changes to its royalty payout model in Q1 2024.

In short, the three changes are:

- Introducing a threshold of minimum 1000 annual streams before a track starts generating royalties on Spotify.
- Financially penalizing labels when fraudulent activity is detected on tracks that they’ve uploaded to Spotify
- Introducing a minimum length of play-time that each non-music ‘noise’ track must reach in order to generate royalties

Exclusive: Music Business Worldwide details Spotify’s plans to introduce a number of new measures in Q1 2024 – and shift $1 billion towards ‘working artists’.

Artist Certification allows musicians to easily identify themselves on TikTok and access special promotional features and tools such as the Music Tab, “By Artist”, “New Release” & “Artist” tags and more.Please note Artist Certification is only available in the below territories.

Available Territories: GB, IE, DE, JP, KR, ANZ, US, CA, FR, IT, ES, BR, MX, CO, TR, NG, LB, & ZA.

Activation Instructions:
Digital Divide Records' Artists' can become certified directly in the TikTok app from their mobile device by following this link.
Please note that this process will not work on desktop.
The approval process takes approximately 7-10 days.
