When his daughter found out she begged him to take it. Leibman agreed to the role when he found out Dr. Green's character had a slightly dark streak.

Another amazing episode written by Alexa Junge - honestly we're become true Junge fans. This episode is absolutely everything we love about this show in one episode. It's laugh out laud funny, cheeky, witty, slapstic, and situational comedy at its best (insert clip of Ross peeling a cigarette off his top lip to serve it to Dr. Geller). But its also warm, a little bitter and so very heartfelt. Tune in to join us in unpacking this epsiode and feeling all the feels!

At first watch the story line of the bullies seems ridiculous and we're all just as confused as Ross and Chandler. But when taking a closer look we realize that this type of bullying DOES exist, people who are visibly radicalized, q***r, disabled, can very often be subjected to this type of behavior.

Honestly I dont think could have done this reaction any better than this, my heart breaks for Phoebe every time.
We've spoken about this before in the podcast, but Phoebe is such an interesting character built on contradicting characteristics that really work for her. She's had such a hard life, and she demonstrates being such a tough human, but at the same time she has some very naive and fragile parts. The look on her face in this scene is like watching her child self as porcelain doll shatter on the floor into a thousand pieces 😭
But also executed with such wit and humor

Our pop culture is filled with untrue and harmful biases. We grow up immersed in them, being delivered jokes that are often as undeniably funny as they are harmful and dehumanizing. And as this happens casually and often concepts that are deeply untrue, or painfully harmful somehow become normalized and deemed truth.
How do we continue to partake in the world without just passively becoming subservient to the pop culture that we consume?
Consuming more responsible media is ideal, but what happens when we live in a world where that isn’t as readily available as we’d like?
Perhaps going back to the TV that shaped us growing up, and shaped society as a whole and consuming it with greater intension is a place to start. Take it apart, define what you love, and parse apart the things that were a problem, revalue them as learning tools and put all the pieces back together again.
This is what we try to do here. And we hope you’ll come along for the ride.

📣 UPDATE: In case you didn’t manage to listen to our last two episodes, Quinn and I are taking a mini podcast hiatus as we deal with some life things. We’ll be back on October 5th with new episodes.

🎉 Goal # 1 is to take care of our mental health and feel grounded on two feet after many changes to both of our lives this year!
🎉 Goal # 2 is to come back to the pod with more energy to provide you with more content and start getting our Patreon feed lit with new things🔥
