By: Christopher Keta
NO FOREIGNER WILL COME AND RESCUE THIS COUNTRY THE ONUS IS UP TO ALL ELECTED MPs ON THE FLOOR OF PARLIAMENT ESPECIALLY THE PRIME MINISTER WITH HIS NUMERICAL STRENGTH TO PASS/AMEND LAWS THAT WILL PROGRESS THIS NATION.

SWEET TALK AND EMPTY PROMISES WILL NEVER CHANGE THIS NATION, MPs IN ECHELONS OF POWER MUST MAKE PRAGMATIC DECISIONS THAT NEVER BEEN MADE BEFORE TO CHANGE THE COURSE OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA’S HISTORY, WE CAN CHANGE IF YOU WANT TO.

THE INDEPENDENT STATE OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA MUST ALWAYS PLAY NEUTRAL IN THE EVER ESCALATING GEOPOLITICAL TENSION IN THE SOUTH EAST ASIA-PACIFIC REGION BETWEEN CHINA, TAIWAN, AUSTRALIA & USA.

WITH THAT IN MIND PNG GOVERNMENT SHOULD APPROACH CHINESSE AND JAPANESSE GOVERNMENT TO FUND A RAILWAY SYSTEM THAT WILL CONNECT THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. IT’S ABOUT TIME WE START LINKING VANIMO DOWN TO ALOTAU AND CONNECT THE ENTIRE COUNTRY WITH RAILWAY.

NOT FOR MOVING PEOPLE BUT TO MOVE OUR CASH CROPS (COMMODITIES – COFFEE, COCOA ETC) DIRECTLY TO PROCESSING FACTORIES AND THEN TO THE INTERNATIONAL PORTS. WE SHOULD BUILD MANY INTERNATIONAL PORTING TERMINAL FOLLOWING THE COASTLINE FROM VANIMO DOWN TO ALOTAU THAT WILL BE LINKED WITH THE RAILWAY SYSTEM.

THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC IMPACT THE RAILWAY SYSTEM WILL HAVE FOR PAPUA NEW GUINEA IS PROMISING, THOUSANDS OF JOBS AND THOUSANDS OF OPPORTUNTIES CREATED, PEOPLE WILL STOP MIGRATING INTO URBAN AREAS AND WILL TOIL THE LAND BECAUSE THERE IS MONEY TO BE MADE.

SEEING THE ECONOMIC IMPACT THIS PROJECT WILL HAVE CHINESSE AND JAPANESE GOVERNMENT WILL FUND, THIS RAILWAY SYSTEM ITSELF WILL REPAY THE LOAN THROUGH THE LEVIES COLLECTED THROUGH MOVEMENT OF FREIGHT.

ALL IN ALL, JUST LIKE HOW USA BECAME AN ADANCE NATION BY INDUSILAISING IT’S ECONOMY THROUGH THE RAILWAY SYSTEM CONNECTING THEIR ENTIRE COUNTRY, WE HAVE TO TAKE THE SAME ROUTE IF WE REALLY WANT TO ADVANCE.

IMF Unveils ‘Unicoin’ — The Global Central Bank Digital Currency.

By Jamie White
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has unveiled a new Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) meant to shore up the embattled international banking system.
The Digital Currency Monetary Authority (DCMA) announced the launch of the Universal Monetary Unit (UMU), also called Unicoin, at the IMF 2023 Spring Meeting, which it claims will “strengthen the monetary sovereignty of participating central banks.”
The DCMA lauds Unicoin as “an innovation in store of value cryptography powered by artificial intelligence (AI). It adopts a central banking monetary policy framework to ensure it has continuous purchasing demand, minimal price volatility, and annual asset pricing targets.”
From the DCMA press release:
Today, at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring Meetings 2023, the Digital Currency Monetary Authority (DCMA) announced their official launch of an international central bank digital currency (CBDC) that strengthens the monetary sovereignty of participating central banks and complies with the recent crypto assets policy recommendations proposed by the IMF

Supreme Pharma proudly serves Papua New Guinea as its trusted wholesale supplier of pharmaceutical products and medical equipment since 2017.

It boasts of having only one state of the Art Warehouse for quality and control that the entire 10 million plus population of Papua New Guinean citizen’s lives depends on.

The Leading Distributor of Medical Supplies gaining millions and billions of kina in public monies as only one telephone number: +675 323 6000, and Fax number: 323 5000 according to their website:
[email protected]. There is no Regional Distribution point of contact shown and how on earth they supply and update is anyone’s guess and raises a lot of questions which we can’t stay silent.

While we have CPL established in PNG since 1987 and Johnsons & Johnson Pharmaceutical existing operations and chain supply, how did SUPREME PHARMA PNG WON MILLIONS & BILLIONS OF KINA CONTRACT when its inception only in 2017?

I APPLAUD MINISTER FOR HEALTH HON. DR LINO TOM, WHO HAVE MADE HIS INTENTION KNOWN TO CABINET AND PEOPLE OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA TO CUT OFF MIDDLE MAN AND DEAL DIRECTLY WITH MANUFACTURERS FROM INDIA, WHICH IS ONE OF THE WORLDS LEADING PHARMACETICAL MANUFACTURERES.

THROGUH THE PM MODI VISIT IN THE COMING MONTHS, IT IS A WELCOMING NEWS FOR US ALL. I JUST HOPE THE GREED AND BEAURACRACY DON’T KILL THE VISIONARY LEADERSHIP SHOWN BY HON. DR LINO.

NO CABINET RESHUFFLE YET

Prime Minister James Marape has brushed aside social media speculation saying there was no cabinet reshuffle yesterday.

He was speaking on the NBC Government Talk Back Show last night.

Early yesterday afternoon, a fake list was being floated around on Facebook with names of ministers against new portfolios.

Mr. Marape however did indicate that for stability purposes before going to the national general elections, a cabinet reshuffle is expected soon.

He further adds, that if there is going to be a reshuffle, he will not play politics but assign MP's who are competent for the job.

Furthermore, he said the performance of the current ministers will also be analysed to see whether they have performed or not.

Marape reiterated a reshuffle is necessary for stability before his government goes in for the national election.

PNG HAS POTENTIAL TO BECOME “HUGE” PRODUCER OF GREEN PRODUCTS TO THE WORLD MARKET

Approved for Release:
Waigani, Port Moresby | Sunday, 05 December 2021

PAPUA New Guinea has “the potential of becoming a huge producer of green products for the world” with 19 gigawatts of power already estimated out of the Purari , Kikori and Stricken hydro potentials and the West New Britain geothermal projects, Prime Minister James Marape has been told.

Chief Executive Officer of green energy developer Fortescue Future Industries Julie Suttleworth said this on Friday (03.12.21) in her brief to the Prime Minister when the CEO was on her way to visit project sites in Gulf and West New Britain.

She also appraised the geothermal sites of West New Britain as being “one of the top three areas in the world” for Fortescue projects.

The CEO was responding to the Prime Minister’s query on whether PNG green energy potential would meet the projection as set by FFI owner and environmentalist, Dr. Andrew Forrest, who said PNG could provide up to 25 gigawatts of power from its renewable energy sources.

Suttleworth said: “We have currently indicated that there was about 15 gigawatts of hydropower that is in the Master Development Agreement that we could access. So we are starting at 15 gigawatts of hydropower; there is approximately 4.3 gigawatts of geothermal also that we have identified at this stage.

“This is early days; there may be more. So that totals to about 19 gigawatts that our study team has already identified. Not quite 25 gigawatts yet, but we hope that over time, we will get to that number. But round now, we know that there is 19 gigawatts of potential.

“If all these projects of about 19 gigawatts of power are developed, they can make over 10 million tonnes per year of green hydrogen, or about 13 million tonnes of green ammonia, or a combination of both, because ammonia is heavier than hydrogen.

“So there is the potential to be a huge producer of green products for the world.

“It is a very important part of our portfolio. We have made a commitment globally to make 15 million tonnes of green hydrogen per year, much of that will come from Australia, but over 2 million tonnes of this will come from PNG which is a huge percentage of our target.

“So the overall vision is to make over 2 million tonnes of green hydrogen from PNG, develop over 19 gigawatts of geothermal and hydropower across the various projects, as well as decarbonise PNG, and have excess for export which is a huge amount to export, because PNG won’t need all.

“We will be doing the studies on the hydropower system to optimise the design of the hydropower dams phase process. So the first Purari sites will be 3 gigawatts. And then there will be stage by stage development – upper Purari, Strickland and others to get to the total of 15 gigawatts. So that does not all happen at once. Start off lower Purari and then others up to 15 gigawatts.

“And at the same time, we need to do more investigative work on the geothermal potential. Geothermal exploration is very expensive. So you need to do a lot of fieldwork first to determine where is the drill bit is going to go down to determine the geothermal potential. This is not done in many places around the world because it is so expensive. Tens of millions of dollars per one hole. It is very expensive drilling. We think there’s at least 4 gigawatts of geothermal potential that needs to be explored and determined to the best way to develop.

“So part of studies is working out the best way to develop the hydropower resource and the geothermal resource. Once we got that renewable power, we need to put the transmission lines to the industrial hub. So of course, in the hydropower, you are linking Strickland, Upper Purari, Lower Purari altogether, so then take the transmission line to the coast where there is a port location.

“We are optimising, right now, the best location for the port. We got two or three options.

“And then we need to optimise the hydrogen production facility. How many electrolysis do we need to make the best use of power, and that electrolyser will take the renewable power, electrolysis of water - so we need to determine where we getting the water from. Is it going to be seawater, or from the river. And then we have to clean that water up to use for electrolysis.

“Electrolysis will make hydrogen with zero emissions. That hydrogen can be used or exported or made into ammonia. This first project that we do, we’ll probably make ammonia because it is easy to transport ammonia.”

Prime Minister Marape encouraged Suttleworth to explain the process of making green hydrogen and green ammonia because of the lack of knowledge and understanding of how the process worked.

These projects are similar to the magnitude of a large LNG projects in exploration, construction, operation and income generation to the country which has seen Government full support to progress them.

Seven more Covid-19 deaths in past day in PNG (30/03/21)

RNZ News

Papua New Guinea has recorded seven more Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the overall death toll.

The deaths were reported shortly after the PNG's prime minister James Marape took the first jab as the country's covid vaccination programme began.

All seven deaths were reported in the National Capital District, taking the national death toll to 56.

According to the National Pandemic Response Controller, those who died were a 36-year-old female along with six males aged 42, 46, 60, 61, 67 and 71.

The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus also continues to climb rapidly, jumping another 271 over the past day to 5,620.

PNG's covid vaccination programme began today in Port Moresby where the prime minister James Marape was the first to receive the jab.

Members of his cabinet are also expected to be vaccinated in this first phase of the rollout, in order to reassure the public of their confidence in the efficacy and safety of the Astrazeneca vaccine.

Australia has provided an initial 8,000 vaccine doses to PNG, and signalled that hundreds of thousands more doses will be sent to the neighbouring country in the coming months.

Frontline health staff are also among the first to be given access to the vaccine, if they agree to it.

A number of health frontliners last week expressed concern that they were yet to be fully informed about side-effects of the vaccine, suggesting many workers would refuse to get the jab.

But the Controller, David Manning, told health workers it was in the nation's interests for them to get vaccinated.

While many health workers were among those who have been infected by the virus to date, Manning said that without workers getting protection via the vaccine, the already-stretched health system would totally collapse.

Frankly speaking from my own observation Party System is an hinderance to service delivery, because I believe Party System promotes corruption, wantok system or nepotism.

Isn't nepotism a form of corruption, The ruling Party Candidates always get the best slice of the meat and are better equipped in providing basic services to their people, District and Province.

The numbers game in maintaining the power within the ruling Party gets precedence over our people's basic needs of services.

The opposition MPs are starved of counter funding from the Goverment, back door dealings purchasing of MPs to join Party lines have literally broken this country down were the system Favours the Politicians and not our people.

We the people gave them the power and basically lost it alone the way, we feel powerful and candidates make us feel special and important during election period and after they are elected into Parliament they have no choice but to learn quickly and conform to Party Politics.

I have personally heard Newly elected MPs admitting and saying from the outside you can talk all you want and make all sorts of promises to your constituents but from the inside is totally a different playing field and different ball game.

From my own perspective the different playing field and different ball game the said MP is referring to is the Creature Called Party Politics.

Party Politics is Eating this country away and growing at an exponential rate, dividing this country in the process, can't you different Parties forming at an alarming rate.

All other Parties Should be abolished their should only be two parties in PNG, representing the opposition and government.
