Karizmaa: “We bonded over both being class clowns in our 10th grade english class and started dating (15yrs old). I didn’t know at the time that us meeting when we did was nothing short of God’s doing. Bishop entered my life during a very pivotal time and became my constant, my rock, my shoulder to lean on, my escape from everything troubling, my best friend and more. It didn’t take long for us to become inseparable and fall in love with one another which was hard for people to believe because of how young we were and personality differences (opposites really do attract y’all lol). We didn’t really care what others thought thought to us it was just him and I in the world. Going off to different colleges was scary and a new world for us but we knew we had to try because the thought of not being together was like trying to breathe without air. The first year of college not only tested our relationship but who we were as individuals. It was new waters that we never saw anyone we were close to go through before but our love for us through. We used every free second to speak to one another, have facetime dates and even sleep on the phone every night. Second year of college Bishop enrolled in the army, and when I say I went through extreme separation anxiety. He was in basic training for almost two months and we had no verbal communication and didn’t see each other. To cope I started a series on Snapchat called “life as an army girlfriend”, leaned on my friends for support, bought a whole bunch of stuff that reminded me of him, and work 10 page letters to him every week sent out with a lip gloss kiss on each envelope. It was one of the hardest points in our relationship for me personally but it always showed me how strong I am and that I can stand on my own. The last two years of college things got easier for us as we figured out how to nurture our a long distance relationship. During those years we changed so much as individual and it’s rare that young couples can go through all of those changes together but our love survived because God had bigger plans for us. In 2020 I graduated & we ended up moving into our first home together. We’ve currently been together for 7 years (8 years in May 22’) and I started wondering to myself when a proposal would come. So when it did happen Valentine’s Day weekend and he got on one knee expressing his love to me I couldn’t help but be in shock with tears running down my face. We loved so hard, worked so hard, laughed so hard, and experienced so much just to get to this moment here and I couldn’t have asked for a different journey AT ALL. Many of my firsts are with him and now all of my last will be with him forever. I love this man unconditionally, uncontrollably, and relentlessly. We’ve grown up with each other, taught each other how to love, showed each other the truth meaning of friendship, and so much more. .papi , there is NO one I’d rather spend my life with than you baby.
