Illinois wide receiver Isaiah Williams achieved All-Big Ten First Team recognition, becoming the seventh in program history and the first since A.J. Jenkins in 2011. Williams led the Big Ten in receptions with 82 and ranked second in receiving yards at 1,055, narrowly trailing Marvin Harrison Jr. He holds an impressive streak of catching at least one pass in all 37 games since transitioning from quarterback in 2021, making it the longest active streak in the Big Ten and tied for the eighth-longest nationally. Additionally, Williams secured two game-winning touchdowns in the final minute or overtime during the regular season, distinguishing himself as the sole player in the nation with this accomplishment.

Illinois defensive tackle Jer'Zhan Newton was named the Nagurski-Woodson Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and the Smith-Brown Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year, the Big Ten Conference announced Tuesday. Newton is the fourth Illini in history to earn the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year award, joining Dana Howard (1993, 1994), Darrick Brownlow (1990), and Moe Gardner (1990).
