Hey write-fighters!

Urgent reminder: Your manuscripts are due March 4th. (Tomorrow!)

If you submitted it already, great! You should have a confirmation in your e-mail.

If you have NOT received an e-mail confirmation, we have NOT received your manuscript! We want to be sure no one's story gets lost in transit. So make sure you got that receipt.

That is all. Be well, everyone!
Gavin

Good evening, write-fighters!

To those of you just ending your 3 days, how did it go?

Just a reminder: It's due March 4th.

Also, again, this year we're judging blind, so please make sure to leave your names off the manuscript! Instead make sure your full name appears in the body of your e-mail, with the title and premise, like so:

(Premise #2) Finding Screamo by Sara Jessica Barker

And make sure the filename follows this formula:

3DNC2022_P2_FindingScreamo.doc

That said, well done everyone! You all worked hard, and you should be proud. Now enjoy some R&R.

And to those doing your 3 days a little later, feel free to post your writing dates in the comments, so we can cheer you on!

How'd the 2nd day of writing go, guys? Didja manage to finish your rough draft?

If not, get some sleep anyway. You've earned it! You've still got one full day ahead of you to finish, and polish your story to perfection. Hang in there!

20/02/2022

Just checking in. To those of you furiously writing this week-end...

How did your first day go? Anyone want to brag about their exploits? (Bear in mind we want to judge blind this year, so no spoilers or word counts! But maybe you want to brag about what percentage of your story you've written so far, or how good you feel about it.)

Anyone want to share their particular strategy for getting through it?

Hang in there, people!

Ready write-fighters?

Here are the 5 pantser premises:

1. A foreigner is detained by officials. His/her documentation seems in order. However, the place he/she claims to be from does not exist.

2. There is nothing that scares the protagonist more than this particular thing. A thing they didn’t realize was abundant in the job/journey they are about to take.

3. During the Regency era, an unwanted pregnancy brings scandal upon a powerful household. An opportunistic antagonist seeks to use this to his/her advantage.

4. Being the new kid at an elite school was bad enough. But now, he/she discovers the faculty’s nefarious plans for the students.

5. The moon is falling.

And...go! Whether you're pantsing or working from your own outline, may you all experience the best inspiration!

Salutations, write-fighters!

Only 3 days remain before your big 3-day writing spree.

Do you have an outline ready? Or are you planning on pantsing?

Quick update!

Since there are so many familiar names registered this year, we’re making a small change to the submission guidelines. We want to judge blind, so please leave your name out of the manuscript. (But do make sure to include your name in the body of the submission e-mail, so we can find you if you win!)

You can review the updated rules here:

Write any story, in any genre you want. Your ballpark target length is 100 double-spaced pages. (About 25,000-30,000 words.)

Greetings, you clever conjurers of fantastic fiction!

The 3-Day Write-Fighters Contest is just 2 weeks away!

I see many familiar names registered already. Welcome back! I’m excited to see what you guys write this year. As are the other judges!

Like last year, there’s an extra prize category for the best pantser. Premises will be posted and emailed out in the evening on the 18th. There are some fun ones this time! But no peeking until you’re ready to start writing!

If you aren’t registered yet, you can register at: WriteFighters.com

Oh, and if you can think of any friends who’d be interested in this challenge, please share the contest details with them! Sharing is caring!

Yours,
Gavin

Happy New Year! Just a reminder...Earlybird Deadline is Jan 2!

31/12/2021

Happy New Year's Eve, write-fighters!

Is anyone setting writing goals for the new year?

I have an annual tradition. I give myself a list of 10 writing goals. At the end of the year, I consult the list and grade myself out of 100. Do any of you have a similar system? If so, please share!
