Pride protests are to demonstrate for equality in legal and equal rights. Pride in the face of repression and subjugation is in and of itself a protest. Pride in this context is a courageous claim to validity. It’s a brave expression of belonging, even when the culture or the country is saying otherwise.

born 1 February 2001, in Huntsville Alabama. Deceased April 18, 2019 (age 15 years), Huntsville, AL

Nigel Shelby, a Black, out gay freshman at Alabama’s Huntsville High School who died by su***de after experiencing unchecked LGBTQ+ harassment and race discrimination at school. Nigel never felt safe at Huntsville High School.Students subjected him to anti-gay slurs nearly every day and routinely told him that nobody cared about him and he should kill himself for being gay. Nigel was also physically assaulted on the school bus because of his sexual orientation.

According to the Obituary, Nigel was a 9th grader at Huntsville High School. He loved theater and history. Nigel spent many years in Band where he played the clarinet, trumpet, and drums. Nigel had big dreams of being an actor, singer, dancer, rapper, and all around entertainer, but most of all he wanted to be an activist for the LGBTQ+ community. Nigel loved to write, he loved gymnastics, and taking selfies. He was a fan of Beyonce and was very passionate about Ariana Grande.

Camika Shelby and Patrick Cruz, the parents of Nigel Shelby, settled a civil lawsuit against the Huntsville City Board of Education and the high school’s then-freshman principal, Jo Stafford. As a result of the $840,000 settlement reached in March, the Huntsville City Board of Education is required to implement a number of policies aimed at ensuring the safety and security of LGBTQ students in the district.

“He was just special,” Camika told NBC News of her 15-year-old son Nigel Shelby following his death. The family described Nigel as a person “full of joy and full of light”. Nigel’s story caught many big names’ attention; Justin Beiber, Hailey Baldwin, Bethenny Frankel, Dewayne Wade, Lena White, and more. Shelby said she now wants to focus on keeping the memory of her only child alive.

Greece on Thursday became the first Orthodox Christian country to legalize same-sex civil marriage, despite opposition from the influential, socially conservative Greek Church.

The law gives same-sex couples the right to wed and adopt children and comes after decades of campaigning by the LGBT community for marriage equality in the socially conservative country.

Wednesday, Meghan Riley Lewis, a 57-year-old trans woman and LGBTQ+ advocate, was shot and killed in front of her home by a food delivery driver in Baltimore.

One friend described her: "She was a very open, loving and sparkly individual, Her catchphrase for everything was 'stay sparkly.'"

Police stated that Lewis and the delivery man was in a physical tussle before the driver pulled his firearm and shot Lewis in her torso

Delen was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and fi****ms charges. He is currently being held without bond.

According to friends Lewis, a parent of two, founded a patient support group for Baltimore bound trans people seeking gender affirming care and surgery, who also said Lewis opened her door to anyone who needed support.

A friend said “She opened her doors, her heart, everything for LGBT individuals and was one of the strongest advocates in supporting them,”

Police say Lewis’s murder is not currently being investigated as a hate crime!

The “Princess of Pop” Britney Spears has confirmed she will not be recording a new album. In fact she says “I will never return to the music industry”

For the past week Social Media has been in an uproar regarding claims that Spears has been working on a new studio album which would be her 10th, with the help of singers/songwriters like Julia Michaels and Charli XCX.

Spears took the Instagram to say that the news of her “turning to random people” to record an album is “trash”

She also states “I’ve written over 20 songs for other people in the past two years! I’m a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way”

This is a big bummer on our Q***r Community because of the impact Britney Spears left on us through her music. We wish her well✨💜

A new rule requiring child welfare agencies to place LGBTQ children in safe environments based on the child’s sexual orientation, gender identity or expression is drawing opposition from Republicans.

The proposed rule, issued in September by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), also would require caregivers to undergo cultural competency training to ensure LGBTQ youths are placed in homes where their identities are affirmed.

In a statement, Health Department Secretary Xavier Becerra said the proposal puts “children’s well-being first.”

Twenty-eight states and Washington, D.C., have explicit laws or policies in place to protect LGBTQ youths in foster care from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, and another six have laws prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation only, according to the Movement Advancement Project, a nonprofit organization that tracks LGBTQ laws.

Sen. Ron Wyden wrote in a letter, “As members of Congress we are committed to ensuring all children, including LGBTQIA+ children, thrive in safe and stable environments.”

Rapper vs Trans TV Media Personality Star are being very opinionated on ‘X’.

Lil Boosie and his daughters went to watch the new highly anticipated film . He expressed on ‘X’ that he had to walk during the movie due to the film seemingly being a “🌈 love story”.

He says the movie indeed has great acting but didn’t agree with the script!

TS Madison insisted on responding in defense of the community and the film.
In the end Madison says “Our community is Doomed!”
