Super excited to welcome Chatrooms to the Best Life Records family! Based in the San Fernando Valley in California, Chatrooms write some of the best post-hardcore tinged indie music I’ve ever listened to… Falling somewhere between bands like Bloc Party and At The Drive In, Chatrooms have their collective foot on the throat of boring and predictable indie music!

Their new single ‘Disconnected’ drops on Bandcamp/Soundcloud tomorrow (Friday 14th), and is a cut of dance floor ready indie that leans heavily on one of the catchiest lead guitar lines I’ve heard this year! Keep an eye out for more information about the new EP very very soon…

‘The Need To Separate’ is one of the most satisfying records I have ever listened to, and being able to say that Best Life Records has brought it to vinyl is truly a proud moment for this little label. Falling somewhere between shoegaze and grunge, with a lot of post-hardcore blended in, this is the real deal.

This week marks the first anniversary of one of my personal favourite Best Life releases - The incredible ‘Running Low’ by !

Put out in partnership with the incredible , ‘Running Low’ is some of the best modern emo I’ve ever heard - Starting with the lyric “I wish I was having as much fun as I’m lying and saying I do”, straight through the incredibly layered guitars and tight rhythm section, Ritual Club are a band that really know how to build a song.

We still have copies available in our store (super limited now) and the band are going to be on the road this summer! Keep an eye out for some more new stuff soon…

As you might already know, or have guessed, there has been a pretty major and unique delay in the production of the Sleep Outside ‘Lakes In Which To Drown In’ LPs - But, I haven’t been informed that they are now in the process of being produced, so the wait shouldn’t be much longer!
As a show of appreciation for everyone’s patience with this, every order of this record will receive a free record from the Best Life back catalogue! So if you already own any of our previous releases, let me know which so that I don’t double up when sending them out!

‘The Need To Separate’ drops onto streaming services on Friday 1st March - To celebrate, they’re throwing a huge bash on Saturday 2nd March in Cardiff at Clwb Ifor Bach with !
Insanely good lineup with some of the best in Welsh alternative music on display - and even better, they’re donating all profits from the show to Rise Above Cancer!

Records are coming - Holding out a hope that they’ll be here in time for the show, if not, it won’t be long after!

One of my favourite labels in the current scene is New Jersey based math-rock-emo label Choke Artist - And I thought it was a shame that so many of their titles weren’t available in the UK or Europe, SO, here they are…
I highly recommend taking a bit of time and listening to a few of these releases - They’re all super interesting, challenging, and most important of all- insanely fun!

‘Indefinite Feelings’ is a new-ish EP of recordings from available on all streaming platforms right now!

In their own words: “This year has been a wild one for all of us, with the ups and the downs and the thrill of not even making it this far. This is a gift to all of you who shared the same pain and experience with us.
Indefinite Feelings is a project that we have been working on for the past few months. We recorded 5 songs in 4 different recording studios around the metro. Some of the songs are already on our debut album gad, but we made some notable changes to each song that made it feel like a new one. It will be accessible on all streaming services before the year ends and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.
We are forever grateful that we are still here, keeping the same high frequency as when we first started out in an open jam.”

We’re heading towards the end of 2023, and the first full year of Best Life Records - So i thought it was about time I posted a huge thank you for all your support this year!

It’s been an extremely tough year for a lot of people, but one thing we’ve all been able to take some shelter in is music - And 2023 has been an incredible year for all of us. Those record of the year lists are gonna be rough to put together!
