SSPDF organized forces have just attacked Dhuording Payam in Nasir County Upper Nile State, targeting Wec Yuel, TikNgoladit, and areas near Wech Yar. Yesterday, May 7th, 2024, Three (3) bodies dug out of the graves after being buried in the forest by forces in Kuajok, Warrap State .

The 3 dead bodies were dug out of the grave after burial by force without the consent of the victims’ families, - According to a close family member of one of the deceased who confirmed it to Bieh Radio

The bodies were dug out by the family of the 3 victims from Gogrial East County.

“We have successfully dug them out but another problem is the car, no car,” he said.

The 3 victims are among 7 people reported to have passed away due to suffocation (lack of oxygen) after being confined inside a container for long hours in Angui Area at the headquarters of Brigade 4, Division 11 in Kuajok, Warrap State.

The three deceased namely; Deng Majok Deng, Maluil Garang Angok, and Wol Duok Lual from Pinydit Payam of Gogrial East are said to be soldiers who were involved in their own crime which is not yet known.

Since the incident occurred this morning, the Government of Warrap State has not responded yet to the incident which has shocked the netizens and everyone concerned.

Rome talks: South Sudan government, SSOMA yet to agree on ‘next steps’

June 17, 2023The Minister of Presidential Affairs Dr Barnaba Marial, secretary-general of the Community of Sant’Egidio, Paolo Impagliazzo and the leader of Real SPLM hold hands in a past meeting. the Rome peace talks that the government and the holdout groups should have resumed last month, going by the previous resolution.

The non-signatory South Sudan Opposition Groups (NSSSOG), which engages the government of South Sudan in the peace talks, blamed the Juba administration for dragging its feet, although the latter maintains that its goodwill is unquestionable.

In an interview with The Bieh Radio FM yesterday, Garang Malual, spokesperson of the South Sudan United Front/Army (SSUF/A), alleged that the South Sudan government had failed to release a delegation to meet them for the resumption of the talks.

“We were to go back in May, but the government chose not to come back because of the round table. Till now, the government is saying they are not ready for the round table,” Garang said.

He added that the government continues to show little effort to speed up the Rome talks to achieve everlasting peace in the country.

But according to Malual, the government holds on to its ground that if there will be talks with the SSSOG, then it must be an edifice of Rome initiatives.

He claimed that the government told the opposition group to send their members to be part of the security mechanism, adding: “We stopped because they wanted some of us to be in the security mechanism in Juba.”

He added that Rome mediators are expecting the opposition group to go to Rome without the representatives of the government to deliberate more as government positions remain constant.

“The mediators are expecting us to go to Rome and discuss more, but the position of the government is that they do not want a peace talk.

Pope Francis left hospital on Friday after undergoing a hernia operation and headed to the Vatican, where his health will be under increasing scrutiny ahead of a busy summer.
A smiling Francis left the Gemelli hospital in Rome at 8:45 am (0645 GMT) in a wheelchair.

Doctors said he was cheerful on waking after last week's operation, cracking jokes with the medical team, and the hospital has published regular updates since then detailing his steady recovery.

The Vatican cancelled papal audiences until June 18 to give the pontiff time to recover.

But Francis was quick to start working again from his suite in Rome's Gemelli hospital, which is the favoured choice of pontiffs to the point of being dubbed "Vatican III" by John Paul II.

He had quipped that "Vatican number one" was St. Peter's Square, Vatican number two was the papal summer residence of Castel Gandolfo, and the Gemelli was number .

Is the bravery of Nuer an innate or a learned trait?

People sometimes think that the character which is common in the tribe is in the gene and transferable from generation to generation through that gene. In my own understanding, I believe that there is no any tribe with a similar genetic makeup; it is only the family that has a similar genetic makeup. However, I also understand that characters are taught and become dominant in the tribe and this as a result induces an ideology among people that such characters are in the gene and unique to that tribe. The behaviors of every ethnic group are influenced by culture. Culture as the way of life has a greater influence on the characters and the person’s behavior is influenced by his/her culture. For example, if love is common in your culture, you should be taught to love since your childhood and become lovely. In this case, culture influences people to have similar character that is adaptable from generation to generation through teaching.

In the Nuer culture, the legacy of the Nuer man is bravery while the legacy of the Nuer woman is respect. A great man in the Nuer culture is a man who is brave while a great woman is a woman who respects herself and other people. Bravery and leadership in Nuer culture go hand in hand. You cannot be a coward and a leader at the same time in the Nuer tribe. As bravery is the legacy in the Nuer tribe, every Nuer man is brave not because bravery is in the gene but because it is imparted to boys by their parents since childhood. A coward man in the family is a great disappointment to that family in the Nuer tribe. In the Nuer families, the boys are taught to have courage and confidence in whatever they do. Being called a man in the Nuer tribe is not easy; you are always expected not to fear anything including death.
