I always get asked about the origin of my gamer tag, and I really wish I had a cooler story to tell.
‘Yoshyaes’ stems from the words “Yoshi” and “Hyaes”, the latter of which is obviously how a group of middle school boys would commit to saying “yes” for the better part of 7th grade. By the time I got to high school, I had outgrown my AOL screenname from the 90s - soccerx07 - and decided to level
up my name game. I’ve been gaming since Hugo’s House of Horrors and haven’t taken a break since. My game room inventory includes a PS4, Nintendo Switch, Wii U, Nintendo DS, raspberry pi retro console (proudly self-made), Oculus Rift, Gamecube, gaming PC and a bunch of older consoles at my parents’ home in Jersey. I’m a diehard Philly fan and will rep the Eagles or Sixers in as many sports games as possible. I’ve played through dozens of seasons of Madden and 2k and probably have the most impressive coaching record in the history of simulated sports franchises. I started a blog along with a friend a couple of years ago - www.twoaveragegamers.com - and really enjoy writing about video game news. We started out with a Fortnite guide and now cover everything from indie games to upcoming AAA titles. Aside from gaming, I’m really big on sports. I grew up playing soccer and eventually transitioned to basketball as I got older. I also like lesser-known sports like spikeball and am down to try most sports that I hear about. On this page, I’ll stream my latest video game addictions and upload videos of highlights or guides that I think may be helpful for the gaming community. I’m definitely a console gamer but I recently started my exploration of mouse + keyboard. If you’ve got tips for someone who is making the jump, please let me know! I appreciate everyone who takes the time to stop by the page and feel free to ask any questions if you want to learn more! You can also become a Patron here for exclusive rewards:
