There has been a lot of interest for this latest book from Jeff Zycinski, due out October 31st. I'm looking forward to reading it. Jeff's previous book the Red Light Zone, that related many of his amusing radio experiences, received much acclaim. This new book filled with anecdotes and insight from his Scottish childhood promises to be just as fulfilling a read.... indeed the voice of morning Radio 2, Mr Ken Bruce, has penned the forward.

Just a heads up Pete Gavin and The Final Word on North Highland Radio. In previous weeks we have enjoyed discussing politics and life with:- immigrants to Scotland, emigres from Scotland, also getting views from within middle-England, North of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We also interrogated BBC experience of bias in the media. All of this has been an enlightening journey surrounding the GE. The view into how peoples personal and work lives were to be touched by Brexit and the thoughts they had, from subjects of antisemitism to a man now scratching his head over how to get 20 artic's of sound system across a post Brexit border in few hours!. In the run up to the vote we had extended chats with several of the GE candidates (do you remember the vivid claim the SNP were promoting zimmer frame s*x to school kids? has anyone checked if that was true?!). As we enter the ( roaring or raging ?) 20-twenties with a huge Conservative majority It seems Brexit has essentially been got "done". For Scotland what now remains is the "should I stay or should I go" Clash. Thus then to retain or just reapply for EU status? Is the once in a generation argument viable enough to stymie any indy ref 2 ?. We need to discuss this...but its not quite the time yet for The Final Word to tackle this...the Westminster/Holyrood key players and strategies are not quite lined up in the tunnel yet....so The Final Word is going to take a wee break from its' regular Wednesday slot and watch from the wings for wee while. Once those Westminster and Holyrood politicos are clearly out there warming up on the field for Indy ref 2, bongs or no bongs we will be back with you chatting it out!! Keep you posted! VOTE for the party you want, VOTE for who will keep out the party you don't want or VOTE just to support a party you feel deserves more respect.... but above all VOTE for all the people that died to get something most of us reading this ,have a luxury of taking for granted...the right to VOTE

Last week we had half hour interviews with GE candidates. One each:- Labour, Conservative, Lib-Dem, Scottish Christian Party, Scottish Family Party. Now, as SNP, Greens and Brexit did not take up their repeated invite for last week...if yer reading its yer last chance on Wednesday to have your Final Word before polling day. On Wednesday 11/12/19 from 20:00 UK on The Final Word we will be chatting with a man of Jewish descent and Welsh heritage. As he perched on Offa's D**e, the England Wales border, we discuss the difference between Europe and Eurozone and of course media's trumpeting Elephant in the room Antisemitism..Is it a discussion we can have without getting into trouble?...you will need to decide for yourself. Does Schrodinger's immigrant exist? Probably in the end we skated the thinnest ice with a jape at Melania's expense ...I was gonna cut it...but I laughed too much across it to be able to edit it out. North Highland Radio - Presenters "Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear" a specially EXTENDED Final Word programme Wednesday 4 12 2019 this is to allow a proper chat with GE candidates. All parties with candidates standing in the Highlands have been invited to put one GE candidate forward for interview (or a suitable alternative representative) . This invite has gone out via telephone and repeated emails last week. Guess what, most parties provided a GE candidate but 3 parties have not responded or declined the chance...NOTE Voter if your party does not appear tomorrow ..it is their choice. We cover loads of interesting subjects. It's nae sound bite zone...each party gets roughly 30 minutes...Oh yes there is a wee bit o' charm but also a few home truths that emerge ...and then the zimmer-frame s*x, drugs, antisemitism, gay rights, global warming, political scandals, God, Moneyed elites or not? Can I catch them out..or do the GE candidates catch me out? Shaping up nicely, tax evasion, zimmer frame s*x, drugs , gold digging, ma********on, Jewish issues , an authority plan to apparently promote po*******hy in schools. Even I'm surprised this show is that interesting as it is the GE candidates. All parties that have candidates standing in the election in the Highlands have been asked, One slot per party, so far Lib-Dems ,Conservatives, Labour and Scottish Family Party have responded...so you'll be hearing them shortly we may well be extending the Wednesday programme....oh you support one of the other parties do you?... don't accuse me of bias... I can only interview the parties that responded to their invite. So if you feel your party is not represented they have been asked...but its down to you now.. you need give em a kick up the bahooky...be assured I certainly will if they are brave enough to come on the show...FEARTIES!
