When Marshal Zhukov met with Dwight Eisenhower, who commanded the American forces, he treated him with Coca-Cola. Zhukov liked the drink, and he asked Eisenhower to arrange for its delivery to his headquarters, but only in a bleached version. Through President Truman, the request was transferred to the Coca-Cola plant, whose chemists managed to remove the color of the dye. Soda was poured into simple bottles with a white cap.
