❗️ Instagram recently announced this change and we're super excited!

🥰 It might not sound like a huge deal, but we love that Instagram just announced that they are making Carousel's up to 20 images now.

💞 Carousel's are a great idea for users that are looking for less work...and more views. Sounds magical, doesn't it? Instagram makes it so that if someone doesn't scroll through the whole carousel the first time, the second image will show up in their feed later on! This gives them more of your content, but you haven't had to do any more work.

So get posting groups of photos or fun info! Let's get your viewers more engaged and, subsequently, your account showing up in their feed more frequently!

Having trouble thinking of what to post on your socials next week? Here's three ideas to get you started!

💞 What is one unpopular opinion you have about your industry? You might think differently than people doing the same type of business as you, and that's ok! Maybe it's something that other business owners should think about. Share it with your audience and get their brain-juice flowing!

💛 Share a personal story related to how you got started. People don't connect with sales pitches, they connect with people. So share a bit about yourself and how or why you started your business. It'll help your audience connect to you and become attached to your account.

🍋 What is a goal you are trying to reach? This can be a longer champaign, or it can be a post / reel you share. Let people in on the process. We all love to see the behind the scenes clips and if you have a goal and the steps you're taking to achieve it...even better! You can share this as a scheduled post every week, showing the progress and achievements, or just as a way to share once and let people in on the goal. It's up to you!

🍊 What exactly are Pillars??

🍓 Business Pillars on social media and in marketing are the foundations that your business sits on. What holds your business up?

👉 What are your values?
👉 How do you want to make your clients feel?
👉 Who are you targeting your message to?
👉 What solution does your company offer?

🍃 What is your Mission Statement? Pulling some of your Pillars from here can be helpful!

Here are some ways you can use your Pillars:

👉 Develop a media calendar that targets your Pillars' messaging
👉 Design your posts around the audience that would be attracted to them (your target audience)
👉 Watch the results of your marketing with these Pillars and hone your message with the data you collect
👉 Use your Pillars as a guidepost for decisions within the business

🍊 Along with your Mission Statement & Target Market your Business Pillars are a key bit of information that will help the success of your company. Not only online, but IRL as well.

🍓 Developing this part of your business can be (is) a bit tedious (freaking annoying) and most people (all people) put it off for a bit (a long while until it seems pointless because you're now years into business).

🍓 Meta has recently changed its rules with Contests and some of the new ones might surprise you! 👇

🍑 Facebook is no longer allowing physical items to be given away.
👉 We assume this is because of so many scammers and bot accounts trying to trick people. It's really discouraging for legit business owners!

🍋 Contests are no longer allowed to ask for Shares, Follows or Tags of friends in the giveaway as an incentive for entering.
👉 Being that contests are a great way for a company to get the word out there about their company and products, not only to grow their following but to get back on the algorithm of their current followers, this rule is not fun!

🍊 Although these rules might seem limiting and frustrating, there ARE some ways around them!

👉 REMIND people to follow and share your fun contest with their friends. You're not telling them to take these actions in order to enter the contest, or get more entries, so it's not against the rules.
👉 TELL your entrants to vote in the comments. Choose a picture for your giveaway that has something to vote on and get the entrants to leave their vote in the comments.
👉 GIVE away virtual items such as gift cards, tickets, digital courses, even a photoshoot would not be a physical product.

🥳 These rules are frustrating to the business that is just trying to grow! But there ARE ways to still boost your following by having successful contests and giveaways with the new rules.

🍒 Well, if this isn't the cherry on top!

🍑 Hosting a Giveaway on your socials seems like it could be easy, but it actually is a little more time consuming than you think!

🍓 Making sure all your instructions are clear, calculating all the entries, finding a randomizer to pick the winner, making enough posts and stories to attract and reminder our followers...not to mention collaborating with other businesses. It can take some organization!

🍒 We definitely offer this type of fun event for our clients and it's proven to boost their followers and engagement rates. It even brings some of their existing followers back to the fold by getting the business on their algorithm again.

🍑 BUT there are things you have to be aware of! Scam accounts love to look for giveaways to trick the participants into giving up information or follow them instead, at the very least.

🍓 So - if you're going to host a giveaway on your Socials, make SURE that you warn your participants! Most of us know to not click links or to look out for these accounts now, but sometimes they're convincing and we don't want our people tricked!! Deleting scam comments is best, and letting your followers know in all the posts and stories is even better!

🍒 As if there wasn't enough for us to remember, we have to add this to the list! 😅

😎 Have a giveaway!! Pick a trendy item or two, give away a service and join forces with a local business. You'll get followers, new viewers and put your accounts on the algorithm of your followers because of their actions on your account.

🤩 Schedule weekly Reels to *reel* in new followers! Reels are shown to people who don't already follow you, so making weekly (or daily!) Reels helps find new eyes for your info.

🥸 Have a photoshoot! Professional photos are so attractive and they will level up your accounts. Not only that but it feels so great to see yourself in professional photos, your view of your own business might even grow!

🙌 Accounts are like flowers. A little water, a little sunlight and a little time...they will grow!

💛 Write exactly what you do in your profile. You don't want people guessing when they look at your account!
💘 Change the bold print name to WHAT you do, not just repeating your business name. This shows up in peoples feeds, it helps you become easier to search, and they can already see your business name at the very top of their screen. No use repeating it!
🎉 Start a Linktree account to add all your links to your IG profile OR make sure you have your website account linked. We want to see your online image, yes, but we also want to see your professional website to take it a step further.

🎠 You'll notice a few differences around here, a new logo, new cover pictures, a more playful vibe in our posts, more color...We're changing it up!! We hope you love it as much as we do!

🙋‍♀️ Stacey and I, Katie, started this adventure of a media business together by combining forces. We used my business media pages as a start but we wanted to develop it into a brand of both of ours. And so, Mint Marketing Collective was born.
