Mide’s mum lived with her 2 siblings including the actress who makes them four in the apartment. Before Mide’s arrival, he was already staying with them as the only man.

Why I rejected Fela’s marriage proposal – Onyeka Onwenu

Veteran Nigerian singer, Onyeka Onwenu has revealed that Music legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti approached her for marriage in the eighties.

Onyeka revealed this in her new autobiography, titled My Father’s Daughter.

She, however, said she rejected Fela’s proposal during her visit to his club because of his other wives.

According to her, she is a possessive lover and did not understand Fela’s love for women.

Narrating how Fela proposed marriage, Onyeka wrote: “The second time I saw Fela was in 1984, a few years after I had returned from the United States. He had just been released from jail.

“He was arrested for attempting to travel with his band for a gig in London with the sum of 1,600 pounds for their hotel accommodation. At the time, carrying any amount of foreign currency was against one of the many decrees promulgated by the Buhari/Idiagbon military junta.

“After he was released from prison, Fela sent a mutual friend, the journalist Onuorah Udenwa who is now a US-based pastor, to bring me to his club. I thought that he probably wanted to thank me for speaking up for him, but that was not it.

“He never even mentioned the article I had written in solidarity with him. Fela wanted to marry me, and I was flattered. I thanked him for the honour of wanting me to become his consort, but I turned him down all the same.”

The music legend added that while she waited at the club to see him, she noticed that his Queen (dancer-wives) had been looking at her with scorn.

“They passed by often, whispering comments about me. They were downright hostile and quite obvious about it.

“I pointed this out to him and told him that I was a possessive lover and would not be able to cope as an appendage to his harem but Fela laughed.

Shared by a doctor ...

For those who get up at night to check the house or urinate.

Each individual must take note of three and a half minutes.

Because it is important? Three and a half minutes will greatly reduce the number of sudden deaths.

Often this happens: a person who still looks healthy has died at night.

We often hear stories of people saying: "Yesterday, I was chatting with him, why did he die suddenly?

The reason is that when you get up at night to go to the bathroom, it is often done in a hurry.

We immediately stop and the brain does not have blood flow.

Why are "Three 1/2 minutes" very important?
In the middle of the night, when the desire to urinate wakes you up, for example, the ECG pattern may change.

Because upon rising suddenly, the brain will be anemic and cause heart failure due to lack of blood.

You are advised to practice the "Three 1/2 minutes", which are:

1. When you wake up from sleep, stay in bed for the first minute and a half;

2. Sit in bed for the next 1 and a 1/2 minute;

3. Lower your legs, sitting on the edge of the bed for the last half minute.

After three and a half minutes, you will not have anemic brain and the heart will not fail, reducing the possibility of a fall and sudden death.

Share with your family, friends and loved ones.

It can occur regardless of age; young or old.

Sharing is showing interest. If you already know, consider this as a review. "

Try to send this important Health Council to all your groups, and you/your family should also follow it.

So true:
For the fact that you are close to wealthy people DOESN'T mean they will help you .
For the fact that you have them on speed dial DOESN'T mean they'll respond to your request. They may even be your family.
So when they ignore you and go out to help other people, don't feel bad or entitled.
GOD just didn't want them to be one of those people that will help you .

We used to have men like this on every street when we were growing up. They are always seated in front of their house in the evening either reading a newspaper or listening to news on their small transistor radio. There's no small pikin they can not discipline. 😁 Some will see you with a ball and start asking about your academic performance 😁 If they seize your ball or kite, just go home. Play don finish that day o! And if them flog you, you dare not let your parents know. E mean say you don go do bad thing. Your parents fit give you additional flogging Take your bike home and do your homework, don't you know it's pass time for you to be on the street. Then, it took a community to raise a child. Now everyone is minding his/her business by building houses with fence. They were always either retired teachers, Nitel or Nigerian railway personnel. We need a return of those days, it was more peaceful and sweet, the whole community lived like a family.

UNCLE Musa.

After living in the United States for 40 years and at the age of 70, Uncle Musa finally relocated to Salagie, The Gambia this year to live in his 5-bedroom house which took him 10 years to complete.

Now in Gambia and in his house, Uncle Musa lives in the living room of the house downstairs while his caretaker lives upstairs in his huge master bedroom.

This is because Uncle Musa cannot climb the stairs without the help of another person.

Even with help, it takes him 10 minutes to make the climb.

As such, Uncle Musa has decided to stay downstairs in the living room as all 5 bedrooms are upstairs.

The house has a living room, toilet and kitchen downstairs; 3 rooms on the first floor and another 2 rooms (including the master bedroom) on the second/last floor.

This is surely not how Uncle Musa anticipated his retirement.

But that is the reality of his journey.

This will be the life of many other Africans living abroad and building mansions back home.

In fact, if you are building a dream house for yourself to live in and the house is not ready by the time you attain the age of 50, forget about it!

Uncle Musa virtually wasted 40 years of his life doing menial jobs abroad, hoping to go and retire back home in his mansion and enjoy life.

But, now he has no life to enjoy and someone else is sleeping in his master bedroom.

Like most aged persons, Uncle Musa is not even able to enjoy a bottle of Malt at his age because it will shoot up his blood sugar level.

Yet, he said he was working hard all his life in order to enjoy life, which includes eating and drinking the finest foods and drinks, when he retires.

Now, he is only able to eat fruit and vegetable salads - and even that, without dressing!

He cannot even eat any of the fine meats out there without his cholesterol sending warning signs.

That is the life of Uncle Musa in retirement?

This will be the story of more than half of us.

The best thing to do is to take mini-retirements now and enjoy the luxuries of life now that you still have the strength to do so!

We must all learn a lesson from the story of Uncle Musa.

DOCTOR IN TROUBLE:

A big city doctor visits an Indian tribe full of men, he asks "How do you guys relieve your s*xual tension?"
"Simple, just come down to the river tomorrow and we'll show you."
The next day the doctor shows up and sees a group of men near a donkey.
One man says "Since you're our guest you get to go first."
The doctor not wanting to go against custom starts to kiss, then proceeds to have s*x with the donkey as told..
Then a man in the group asks "Are you almost done Doc?"
"We need the donkey to cross the river in order to get to the tribe of women."
