This is how Ayman started learning to read while practicing writing at the same time!

For example, before starting our reading session, Ayman practices writing the book’s title using the Notes app on my phone. With its color selection and ease of use, it’s such a brilliant tool for practicing writing—no mess or prep needed! It’s especially convenient for a quick session just before bedtime.

We’re currently reading the Usborne Publishing Fables Stories Collection, which I highly recommend for beginner readers.

📚The hardest part of homeschooling is decluttering and preparing for the next level. It’s so heartbreaking to let go of all the beautifully completed work that took so much time and effort of my boys. Boys had an amazing learning journey. Alhamdulillah!
Here are about two years’ worth of work heading to the recycling bin.

On the bright side, the exciting part is that the boys will be starting a new chapter in the new year, InshaAllah. A’ayaan is eagerly looking forward to beginning his KS3 journey (follow us Wise Juniors for more updates) , while Akhlaaq will continue with his upcoming term in Year 1. As for Ayman, he is making steady progress with his preschool activities and often joins Akhlaaq during study time.

🌅A Glimpse Into Our Morning HomeEd Routine

This morning, A’ayaan took the initiative to tidy and organize his study space. He decided to declutter his desk and shelf, clearing out old practice papers to make room for new ones.

While Akhkaaq and Ayman worked on their number and place value activity, I kept Baby Ayham happily engaged with a coloring page. He is also a wildlife lover.

Most mornings, we dedicate 1–2 hours to desktop work right after breakfast. Aayaan, however, follows a slightly different schedule. As our early riser, he’s usually up before 6 a.m. and likes to start his tasks independently right after his morning routine.

InshaAllah, I’ll share more about their morning routines in future posts. Stay tuned for updates!

We’ve started exploring number and place value with Akhlaaq and Ayman for the first time, and it’s such an exciting journey! If you want your children to truly enjoy maths, I highly recommend dedicating plenty of time to mastering this foundational concept—especially focusing on numbers within 10 and number bonds. Once kids fully grasp number formation and place value, tackling bigger numbers becomes so much easier.

Interactive, hands-on learning makes all the difference! I’ve planned lots of engaging games and activities to make this topic both fun and memorable for them. Also, I can’t recommend Twinkl enough for amazing resources!

So proud of the boys, Alhamdulillah! Especially Ayman, who just earned his first swimming certificate after completing the preschool stage. As a COVID baby, we couldn’t introduce him to swimming as early as we did with A’ayaan and Akhlaaq, so this achievement is particularly special. Swimming has become a regular part of our routine, with at least two public swimming sessions a week, in addition to their lessons, to keep them active. This certificate is a wonderful milestone, and I couldn’t be happier for them!

I highly recommend Bushy Grove Leisure Centre swimming program. Jacqui, Liam, and Sherri are our absolute favorite teachers!
