Heinrich Dressel - Polarlys Teaser
"The ship was nothing prestigious. It was a steamer of a thousand tons, smelling of cod and its deck always cluttered with goods, which covered the route between Hamburg and Kirkenes, along the Norwegian coast and making a stopover even in the smallest ports.
Mixed ship, it could accommodate up to fifty first-class and as many third-class passengers. It brought machinery, fruit and salted meats to Norway. It returned loaded with barrels of cod, bear skins and seal oil from the far north. Up to the Lofoten Islands the weather was normal.
Then, suddenly, it plunged into ice and in a three months long night”
Heinrich Dressel’s “Polarlys", a soundtrack inspired by the book “The Mystery of the Polarlys” (1932) by Georges Simenon, out next 22 January.
