On a rare Sam Houston Coliseum Saturday show, May 29, 1971, tag team wrestling achieved perfection: Wahoo McDaniel, fresh from a year-long campaign for the NWA title, frustrated by Terry Funk interference, said he would fight both Funk boys by himself. Then longtime rival Johnny Valentine stepped in to be Wahoo's partner.

I made some basic charts to document the attendance at the wrestling shows in the Superdome during the McGuirk/Watts/Crockett era, 1976-87.

Here they are together, 32 total, the best and worst drawing shows of that era. (I counted the Crockett Cup as one show or it would be much lower!)

JYD era shows are green, pre-JYD blue and post-JYD red.

You can't help but notice how the green and red switch places on the top and bottom charts.
