What is F.AD.?
FAD is the official Ujima U Sorority! We stand for the principles of
Funtunfunefu: Unity in diversity, giving a common destiny
Aya: Endurance, independence, perseverance, and resourcefulness
Dwennimmen: Strength in mind, body, and spirit, humility, wisdom, and learning

Who is F.A.D for?
F.A.D is a safe space for those who identify as black women, femme or masc non-binary, agender, and/or LGBTQIA+. In FAD we can share our love of everything from Pokemon to anime to food to hobbies, just about anything!

Hey guys, Chris here and Its time for another battle tip!

Remember, choice items (choice band, choice scarf, choice band, choice specs) do not work once you dynamax. So for example, if you have a choice banded blaziken with flareblitz and you want to do maximum damage with a fire move, do not dynamax because your max flare will not get a 50 boost from the choice band. Stay unmaxed and your flareblitz will do more damage.

Yo whats up guys! Chris here with another battle tip!

Remember, if you have a pokemon with prankster, you're moves that get active with the prankster ability will not work on other dark type Pokémon.

Example: If Grimmsnarl with prankster uses thunderwave on tyranitar , it will fail because tyrantitar is dark type. So always keep that in mind.

Hey guys! Whats up, Battle Dean Chris here and here are some quick tips for priority moves in battling.

Remember that priority moves don't follow the rules of a pokemons speed stat. This means that even Bisharp can outspeed dragapult if it has a move like suckpunch.

Priority moves always move before another pokemon who is not using a priority move. So for example if a max speed dragapult uses Thunderbolt vs a min speed bisharp using sucker punch, the Bisharp will always move first.

Yo what's up guys!

I am the Dean of Battling Chris, or some may know me as the singles God!

I love battling and all of the aspects that come with it. Singles battling is my true passion but I'm learning to get good in doubles as well!

My expertise includes battling in singles, and understanding what the aspects that come with that. Like keeping momentum, knowing when to capitalize on mistakes and how to remain patient. I am also very aware of what is and isn't meta. I am also the current Bug leader. They aren't the best but I make them work!

Do you want to be able to gain a true understanding of battling so you can outpace others, do you want to know the ins and outs of the meta and to be able to predict your opponent? Then this mentorship is perfect for you!

As you you would expect, most of my favorite pokemon are competitively viable:

1. Dragonite - This dragon comes packed with great immunities and solid stats. But that is not where this pokemon truly shines. He truly shines with his incredible move pool and amazing ability, multiscale. This pokemon can take a pretty much guaranteed hit and dish out massive damage back with his very large 134 base attack. He is truly a monster when it comes to battling.

2. Jolteon - While this pokemon has not been at the top of the charts in some years, it still has great speed and special attack stats to make itself useful. It can also spread paralysis and can be devastating on rain teams. Don’t count Joleon out as you may be shocked by his presence.

3. Pichu - Nothing crazy about him, he is just my favorite pokemon 🙂

Battling Basics:

This course will teach you the basics of how to get into competitive battling. Each lesson will focus on a different core aspect of battling to help give an idea of what goes into a competitive battle. Once you complete this course you have a base line knowledge of how to think about pokemon battles and you'll be a better trainer for it.

Part 3: The Search for a Worthy Trainer

For hundreds of years now, Ujima University has been missing. All the knowledge held there now lost to us. There have been old wives tales across the land of Ujima that the university still exists. There are rumors of people dressed in strange clothing, much like the ancients would wear. They appear when new Pokémon or techniques have been discovered but disappear into the mist without a trace. The legend goes that Ujima University will open its doors once more when a trainer, both a seeker of knowledge and pure of heart, proves themselves worthy….

Today, the Phoenix Queen has revealed herself once more!
Ujima University is hosting a trivia tournament at 6pm EST!

Part 2: Midnight Sun

Under the Phoenix Queen’s leadership, the university became a place of learning for laymen and scholars alike, offering courses and battle training at all levels. This is when scholars who dedicated their life to the pursuit of knowledge became the first Professors. However, one such Professor took their research too far. The Between, an area within Mt Laarin, is a sacred place, said to be where the Gods and Arceus first met and forged the bond between mankind and Pokémon. Remnants of their aura remained on these hallowed grounds. Here, new mon are born out of thin air without defect, far stronger than any mon hatched from eggs. Wanting to harness this power to create and manipulate the abilities and strength of any mon at his discretion, one Professor began to dabble in dark, one could even call it mad, science. Seeing how this knowledge and lack of restraint could cause chaos and harm to the natural order, he was stripped of his research and ousted from the university.

However, the Fire Prince aspired to seize power so he could expand the Ujiman Empire and rule the world. Upon hearing about the mad scientist’s research, the Fire Prince saw a way to make his dream a reality. He readied his followers and launched an attack on Ujima University to steal the research. Before the battle could take any lives, the Phoenix Queen met the Fire Prince on the practice fields and challenged him. The flames of their mon engulfed the fields as they battled, the scorches still present to this day. Eventually, the Phoenix Queen bested the Fire Prince, leaving him with just a single mon. For a moment she wavered, not wanting to end her predecessor and long-time friend. The Fire Prince seized the opportunity and took out one of her mon, leaving just her Torkoal. Fearing that she may lose the battle and unable to end the Fire Prince, the Phoenix Queen called out to the Gods. Her Torkoal began erupting pillars of smoke that began enveloping the university. With a final decree, the university vanished without a trace....

Ujima University
Part 1: Origins

The Ujiman Empire was the marvel of the ancient world, where people and Pokémon lived in harmony. It was an advanced civilization credited with discovering the properties of berries and various stones to enhance mon. Many such discoveries were made in Ujima and to gather all of this knowledge, Ujima University was founded in the capital city of Olodumare. There the scholars continued to make advances, unlocking the mysteries of Pokémon. It was even rumored that the very Gods and Legendary Pokémon shared their secrets with the most dedicated and worthy scholars. Over the years, Ujima University became a beacon of learning and peace with the sole goal of improving life for people and Pokémon alike.

The university was led by many highly esteemed headmasters and headmistresses. Their duty was to protect the knowledge and ensure that it was used for good. The 10th headmistress was none other than the Phoenix Queen. Given the title for her mastery and love of all fire type Pokémon, she served as both a scholar and the Eshu city gym leader. When it was time for her to become the new headmistress, she selected her long-time student and friend as the new Eshu city gym leader, giving him the title of Fire Prince.
