📌 In American English, “.” is called period, when it is at the end of a sentence.

📌 When “.” is used in a website link, it is called dot.

📌 When “.” is used in order to separate the fractional part from the integer part of a number, it is called point.

📌 And when making an omission in a sentence, “…” calls ellipsis.
