I am saddened to hear of the passing on of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning monarch of the United Kingdom. My thoughts and prayers are with The Royal Family, the entire United Kingdom and the Commonwealth nations, over this irreplaceable loss.

Hers was an impactful reign and beautiful and explored life devoted to democratic ideals, charity, selflessness and empathy. She will always be remembered by the lives, organisations, institutions and countries she positively touched during her reign.

May she rest in eternal peace.

🤝 The Queen received Liz Truss at Balmoral Castle today.

Her Majesty asked her to form a new Administration. Ms. Truss accepted Her Majesty's offer and was appointed Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury.

The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.

Today, I was at the World Trade Organization - WTO HQ in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss and gain some insight about Nigeria's economic recovery (relative to the role of trade and investment), given the dire straits we are in.

I thank Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala most sincerely for her time, frank engagement, useful advice and guidance. I remain committed to building a better Nigeria for the future generations.
