Jo and JJ with Reb
Our first guest of the season, Reb, helps women love their bodies enough to take back control of their health and confidence.
Reb is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, who has overcome massive physical and mental health issues to become the woman she is today.
Ending up in a wheelchair in 2019, Reb made the decision never to be pushed in the chair again, and in October 2019 wheeled the chair to the door of the gym, and started the long road back to health and fitness.
Today she's stronger than ever before, has lost over 50 pounds, and is now fully independent and working full time while getting her business off the ground to help others turn their lives around.
Many people, doctors, family, told her she couldn't do it. Instead, she chose to say, what if I can? And because of that, she's where she is now. We are delighted to have her on the show to learn more about how she did just that.
Jo and JJ Go Mental
Come join me and JJ as we go Mental on Monday evening at 7 pm UK time, 11 am Pacific.
Last week, we asked the question: how do you know if you are using emotional intelligence in an authentic and sincere way, or whether you are just ticking a box before you move on to the good stuff in the conversation - i.e. the bit that serves you.
Lets see what this week will have in store.
As always, if you have questions or topics you would like us to talk about, DM me (jo) or leave a comment and let me know
And we are back - season 2 of Jo and JJ Go Mental

Jo & JJ Go Mental
And it's a wrap for Season 1 of our Podcast. Join me and JJ for our final episode in this season of the show, as we look back over these last months, our different guests, our different topics, and get ready for some R&R over the summer holidays.
Jo & JJ Go Mental with Faith Clarke
Join me and JJ on Monday as we chat with Faith Clarke. We are going to talk about diversity and inclusion and working with autism.
Faith is an organizational health and inclusive team specialist, autism activist and mama. She actively engages the needs of parents and professionals who work with people on the autism spectrum, to create curricula and experiences that meet those needs.
Jo and JJ Go mental with Rev Erika Allison
Join me and JJ on Monday when we chat to Rev Erika Allison.
One of the themes that has come up in previous episodes with JJ is letting go of the "yeah but". A "yeah but" is when we think about changing a habit or belief, and then say "YEAH, I get that, BUT here are all the reasons why I cant"
One of the biggest "yeah buts" that we can cling to is the "yeah but" that relates to part of our story that we don't want to forget, for fear that others will too.
We know intellectually that we need to let go because it is hurting us - but we don't know how.
This is one of the strong messages that Rev Erika talks about in her message of healing and self-acceptance - and I can't wait to dive in and talk to her more about it
Erika Allison is an interfaith minister, inspirational speaker and workshop leader who helps people recover from identity harm, build their inner compass, and live joyful, authentic lives. She is the author of Gay the Pray Away: Healing your Life, Love, and Relationships from the Harms of LGBT Conversion Therapy and she leads a monthly gathering to help the queer comminity find spiritual belonging and liberation. Formerly an engineer and educator, Erika’s career spans positions in corporations, nonprofits, school systems and universities. Rev Erika was recently named to Queerency’s 100 Women list celebrating LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs, leaders and creators.
Jo and JJ Go Mental with Marie Louise Ashworth
Join me and JJ as we interview Marie Louise Ashworth, VP operations at ChefPassport and President of The Network, a voluntary organisation that acts as a focal point for women in Luxembourg.
Among other things, we are going to talk about Marie Lou's own journey of burnout, the work of the Network in the professional and personal development of its members, and the power of mentoring
Jo and JJ Go mental
This week, JJ has been called back to her family for a few days, so is unable to join, so it's just me today.
I thought I would share some thoughts I have been having as a result of some of our podcasts and FB lives - specifically around how perceptions have shifted towards burnout in the workplace
Jo and JJ go mental with June Burgess
Come join me and JJ as we sit down with June Burgess, to talk about the power of letting go.
June is an equine coach - she works with clients and horses to learn life skills. Working with horses in a coaching environment is a mind blowing thing. Horses live in the here and now, they don't care about what happened yesterday, or even five minutes ago, and they don't care about what will happen in half an hour. Horses can show you how to do this for yourself if you just tune in and let go.
For more details on what June does, check out her website http://horsesforpeople.co.uk/
Jo and JJ Go mental
JJ and I are back on Monday going a wee bit mental. This week it will be just the two of us, and we will be cracking open the jar for another subject.
If there is anything in particular you would like us to talk about, get in touch and let us know
Jo and JJ Sit down with Jessica Whytehorn
Come join me and JJ as we sit down with Jessica Whytehorn to talk about what it's like parenting a step family, how to cope when the members of the family speak different languages, and how to know when it is time to let go and let the kids fly the nest ...
Jo and JJ Go Mental with Sascha Altman Dubrul
Come join us when JJ and I sit down with Sascha Altman Dubrul, writer and educator, as we talk about creating a growing movement of dedicated people to build an alternative mental health infrastructure that is useful and accessible to a whole lot of different kinds of people
