🤷🏻‍♂️We’re husbands, of course we don’t always agree on what our organization should look like.🤷🏽‍♂️

When we first set out to plan our study, we wanted this to be the central place where we eventually would add a piano and create our home library. Unfortunately, we have an attachment to our books, especially those from our graduate degrees that we bonded over the course of university. We also have books in our kitchen, Edward’s office, children bedrooms, the bar, the junk drawer…the bathroom (T***y, This #2 Shall Pass).📚

Are you team centralize all books in one location and define a sorting order or distribute across your spaces where the intent of the books is accessible?

✈️After a few days of work travel for one of us, it’s nice to be home together.🏡

Fun fact, Edward uses his birth mark by his ear to guide barbers on where the high fade starts. 💇🏽‍♂️

💕When was the last time you did something spontaneously with someone you love?

We will spend the evening together this Valentine’s Day without planning (besides some logistics shared here). We’ll get in the car after work, drive somewhere for dinner, maybe walk around town, and then do something special when we get home.🌹

📸 This photo at the Buckingham Fountain is one of our favorites from when we were in Chicago last spring.

Remember that you’re awesome, so love yourself extra hard today, too! 🫶

We have commitment issues when it comes to wallpaper, so we decided to paint with the flexibility to experiment with color! 💅🏻💁🏽‍♂️

Image the ambiance of a countryside picnic but with mid-century modern furnishings. We wanted an elevated design style for our dining room that would still be casual for everyday use.

Creating a layered look was incredible, with box moulding halfway up the wall to a traditional casing that matches our signature trims. The eye is then lifted by a checkerboard plaid painting technique to crown moulding 10’ to the ceiling.

What room in your home are you looking to change up this year?

Raise your hand if you don't know what to do with some corners in your home, so you add a plant, then get a friend for your plant not to be alone! 🪴🙋🏽‍♂️

Lately, the sun has been pretty shy and only shows up maybe once a week, but if our plant babies can still thrive with limited sun, then so can we! Embracing every opportunity to soak in the rays, even on chilly days, gives us energy. Grateful for Midwest living, we experience all four seasons, finding warmth and coziness together.

Spring will be here before we know it, and we're excited to re-pot some of our growing babies. Still, we're also finding ourselves concerned with either becoming pot hoarders or becoming propagating addicts that let our plants have babies (only not to have small pots go unused)! 🌱💡

Are you team-matching all your pots or making every single one a statement?

Patience and kindness are words to live by. Whenever embarking upon a significant life event, it’s important to remember these, as well as the golden rule of treating people how you want to be treated in return. There will always be something that comes up as a stressor that triggers an escalation, but if we work through these together, the outcome can be positive for all.

Today, we celebrate three years of being legally married! 🤵🏻🤵🏽‍♂️

Our first wedding was a very different reality as we feared being hospitalized and not being allowed to visit each other for not being family during 2020.

Why wait? The biggest question we found ourselves asking each other, knowing that love has been a constant through times of uncertainty. We sat through a courtroom six feet apart, masked and wearing the only suits we had.

“You may now remove your masks and kiss your husband!”

To celebrate this year, we went to the Marble Room in Cleveland for a special dinner. The ambiance, food, and service at were incredible. This welcoming place is one where we cannot wait to go back and admire the atmosphere, even if it's for just a drink or a dessert! 🥂🍮

When was the last time you were a tourist in your backyard? We were delighted to have a friend in town over the weekend, and we enjoyed hosting and sharing our favorite places around town with her.

We rekindle the flame of our love most when we get out and explore together. This weekend also made us realize we should spend more time discovering new places for date nights. Ohio is in the heart of it all, and we were reminded just how much we enjoy it here and all there is to do!

Connection and learning are lifelong wonders. Perhaps these aren’t the two words that immediately come to mind when thinking of a two-day press trip to Northern Wisconsin, where we’d be showcasing the latest fall trends from . But the energy aligned because we were amongst an incredible group of people from throughout the country, ready to take in all the sights and beauty of in autumn.

We were eager to capture our moments but quickly became most interested in being together and building memories with new friends. Connections were made. We both feel that we learned not only from our new friends but also from the teams at Lands’ End, Destination Door County, and .

Have you ever had pumpkin soup? Today’s Fall Food Friday recipe is inspired by . We once had Curried Pumpkin Soup at a friend’s fall potluck and it is delicious. Aren’t waterfalls one of the most beautiful sights in nature? Over the weekend, we had the privilege of taking Mitzi on her first hike along the Keuka Outlet Trail, where we stopped and saw the Seneca Mills Falls together. We could tell she was taking it all in and would’ve probably liked getting even closer to it than we allowed her! Mitzi welcomed the great outdoors, the strangers, and their curiosity about her, but above all, the belly rubs!

We’re excited to continue chasing waterfalls with our baby girl soon! Where should we take Mitzi next?

David’s grandma had this recipe in her cookbook for a no-bake cheesecake that we wanted to put a spin on for fall. When we started dating, one of the first desserts we made together was cheesecake with caramel sauce and topped with nuts. So we’re sharing our latest creation that brings both of these worlds together, and we think it’ll be one you can enjoy with your family and coworkers, neighbors, and friends.

Please share or save this post for the ultimate indulgence of the season!

Serves 12

Ingredients

- 15 graham crackers
- 6 T melted butter
- 1/4 c granulated sugar
- 4, 8 oz packages of cream cheese
- 1-1/2 c powdered sugar
- 1 c plain Greek yogurt
- 1 t vanilla
- 1 t lemon juice
- 1 t cinnamon
- 8 oz container Cool Whip
- 2 apples, washed
- Caramel sauce
- 1/2 c peanuts, chopped

Tools

- Food processor
- Stand mixer
- Peeler
- Springform pan
- Butter knife

How to make it

1. Add graham crackers, melted butter, and granulated sugar to a food processor and run high until crumbs are formed and well mixed. Grease the springform pan with butter. Press crumbs into the pan to form a crust.
2. Peel, core, and dice apples. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
3. Cream cheese, powdered sugar, and yogurt together in the mixer. Add vanilla, cinnamon, and apples. Mix on low until blended. Lastly, fold in the Cool Whip just until the consistency is uniform. Pour into pan over crust.
4. Refrigerate overnight or 8 hours.
5. With cake on a large board, take a butter knife and warm it under hot water. Run along the sides of the pan before releasing. Pour caramel sauce over and sprinkle with peanuts.
6. Cut into 12 slices and serve immediately with additional whipped topping if desired.
7. Enjoy!

Can you believe we’re just two days away from the official start of fall? If you’re new here, you might not know that we are all about the crisp autumn air and, of course, the fall foliage! 🍁

Here we are in one of our favorite places to see all the colors, Holden Arboretum. At , you can climb the tower to look over the forest and see Lake Erie on a clear day! Or experience the canopy walk to be one with the trees. Even from the different paths, there is so much to explore.

Are you planning any day trips to catch some fall foliage this season?

We’re smiling ear-to-ear because we have some exciting news to share! We are off to a brand trip and cannot wait to share all the inspiration and goodies we will find and bring home!

This will be a place we’ve never been together, in a state we once lived in. Any guesses? There will be water, a sailboat, adventure-seeking, fall clothing, outerwear, and the start of the foliage season! 🍁

We packed and wrote our 3-page guide for Mitzi’s babysitter. Then we showered Mitzi with kisses and snuggles to start catching up from time away from her!

We’ll share our adventures with you over the next few days, as we’re excited to work with great partners representing brands we love with other brand ambassadors.

We’re really feeling a travel bug coming that we couldn’t help but go down memory lane to our first trip to Walt Disney World. It was Edward’s first time, and he wanted us to focus on the experience and not so much on capturing, so we opted for the PhotoPass with all the fun high school senior portrait poses pretending we were BFFs across the park!

When it comes to travel are you team plan every detail of the trip or team wing it and go with the flow?

We worked with to design the ultimate coffee bar right off the primary bedroom in our second-floor hallway! We needed a working station to prep for feeding a newborn every 2 hours, for a quick pick me up in the morning before meeting energized kids, or even to wind down in the evenings!

We chose the new Cherry Amber finish on beautiful mid-century style flat front doors with tab pulls in brushed gold. There is ample storage for not only our favorite drinkware but also the versatility of full-extension soft-close drawers and cabinets for linens, cleaning supplies, travel needs, batteries, and so on!

What is a luxury in your home that, once you have it, you can’t live without?

We’re heading down to Buckeye Lake, Ohio’s oldest state park! And of course our backseat driver will be the one and only, Mitzi! We’re so thankful that she loves car rides so that we can take her on more adventures with us.

These are three must-haves for our first 2-hour road trip since we brought her home:

1. Windowed hammock seat protector. This keeps her safe and comfortable, and she can see us while also getting air through the vents!

2. Chew toy that we can fill with peanut butter. This will keep her occupied on patios while we enjoy a meal or drink!

3. Insulated bowl set that we use for water to keep her hydrated. If you didn’t know, she’s a thirsty puppy!

What are you up to this weekend?

Stay tuned to our stories today where we’ll be bringing you along to all the good spots in !
