Yesterday was a week since Simba's surgery, he's doing great and healing well. Surgery never slowed him down, he's been a handful to say the least. Ash is scheduled to be spayed on the 9th of December. Ash & Simba are eager to play, but Simba will be down for at least another week. They are still able to see one another, mainly while being held, because they both want to play & kick right from the start, which Simba can't do right now. We are truly grateful for all the prayers. Ash & Simba are two tough little babies.😻

Simba's surgery went well, he is at home resting comfortably. The vet ended up having to do extra during the surgery, because he had a restrained testicle. It's a condition called cryptorchidism, which is very rare in cats. When they went in to repair his hernia, they removed it from his abdomen. Thank you to everyone that prayed for him, and a big thank you to Bear Creek Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Jordan and her staff are absolutely wonderful with both Simba & Ash! ♥️

Simba has been dropped off at the vet, he doesn't seem a bit fazed. Here's a cute video of him purring before we left and two other videos before we got there. If you could all continue praying, thank you to all who have so far and who continue too.♥️

Everyone say a little prayer for Simba, he has hernia surgery tomorrow morning, and will be neutered while under anesthesia. Pray everything goes well, and that everything goes smooth during the healing process. ♥️ Also he's never been away from us or his sister (Ash) so that's going to be a big thing for all of us.

14 weeks 5 days! ♥️

Ash & Simba had another vet appointment today. Simba gained a whole pound, he now weighs 4.5 pounds. Ash didn't gain quite a full pound from their last visit, she now weighs 3.8 pounds. Their officially done with all their shots!🎉 Ash did great getting her last shot. Simba on the other hand wasn't having it today, he was ready to throw paws. He had a tiny knott where he tried to fight them on getting his shot, but it seems to have already went away. Their ear mites are officially gone, but they are back on ear medicine, due to a little infection from the ear mites. They did extremely well on the car ride today and looked extremely cute in their outfits too.😻🧡🎃🍂🍁

12 weeks 5 days! ♥️

Simba & Ash had their second appointment with the vet yesterday. Ash did not enjoy the back roads through the country at all. Both did great once to the vet, Simba hopped right out of the kennel, with his sassy, independent self, walked the office like he owned it, while getting into everything. Ash is sweet and cuddly all she wanted was to be held and loved. Ash now weighs 2.9 pounds and Simba now weighs 3.5 pounds, they are both at a good weight. They both had blood taken yesterday for thier cat leukemia test, both came back negative, and they got their second round of shots. They were also given their cat leukemia shot to keep them from getting it and their rabies shot. They have to go back in 3 weeks, to get their leukemia booster. Simba's hernia is still a concern, they've scheduled him to be neutered on the 8th of October, which is the day they will be 4 months old. They will go in during the time of him being neutered and close the hernia. Ash is healthy and won't have to be spayed until 6 months. Simba is back on ear medicine for ear mites, his didn't quite clear up like it should have. Ash on the other hand, the ear mites cleared up pretty well. Overall they seem to be healthy, other than Simba's hernia which is scheduled to be fixed.

9 weeks! ♥️

Ash & Simba had their very first appointment with the vet yesterday, unfortunately it wasn't with our regular vet due to covid. They didn't tell us prior to that we couldn't go back with them due to covid, that was sprung on us when we got there, which I wasn't happy about. I understand regulations due to covid, but I think we should have been made aware before we got there, because I don't trust just anyone with my babies, and they've never been away from us. Their appointment didn't go exactly how we expected, their weight is good, Ash weighs 2.12 lbs and Simba weighs 2.38 lbs. They both had to have additional things done, they both had to have an ear swab. They have ear mites, which is probably from being outside when they were born. They had to have an ear cleaning before they left, they were given drops for their ears that they'll receive every morning & night. Simba has it worse than Ash, his ears are worse than hers, and he has an umbilical hernia. We have to keep an eye on the hernia, if it starts swelling, bulging, or feels hard then he may have to have emergency surgery. We're hoping it will close on it's own, if it doesn't they plan to go in and close it when he gets neutered at 6 months old. If everyone could continue keeping them in your prayers, it would be greatly appreciated.

8 weeks! ♥️

Ash & Simba are growing so fast! They are doing good, and their legs are much better. Ash was back up and playing the next day. They haven't had any more issues with their legs which we are thankful for. Due to covid vets weren't taking new patients, so the earliest we could get them in to get their shots, health and wellness check is on the 9th. Which is still their 8 week checkup. Enjoy all the pictures, I couldn't post just one.😻

7 weeks! ♥️

I didn't get a chance to update last week, but, I'll make up for it with this post. Friday night Simba had some issues with his legs, he acted like they hurt, he would sit up on them, but wouldn't walk on them. He didn't act any different other than his legs hurting. We thought at first maybe it was from playing with Ash, they can be a bit rough as kittens are when they play, but they are never alone, we're always watching them, so nothing happened that we could see, it was just out of the blue. Yesterday he was back up on his legs, playing like nothing was ever wrong. Today Ash is doing the same thing, acting like her legs are hurting, not sure if it's something genetic or just growing pains. If everyone could keep them in your prayers, for it not to be anything serious, for Ash's legs to feel better and pray Simba's doesn't come back. Hopefully we'll get answers from their vet on what could be causing this.

Guess whose eyes are open? That's right, Ash opened her eyes last week and Simba this week. Both are getting teeth, and growing rapidly. They're so smart, they already try to play and groom themselves, which usually doesn't happen until 4 weeks, they turned 2 weeks yesterday. 😻♥️

One week ago today Ash and Simba were found and rescued. They are rowdy, strong, and already very smart. They are already purring, and very vocal which usually doesn't happen until 3 weeks in with newborn kittens. They love their formula, feeding time is their favorite other than being cuddled up to you. Ash and Simba have been strong willed ever since they were found and we pray they keep this strength throughout.💕
