Australian Company finds gas and oil in Zimbabwe
The company said in a statement that analysis of samples from its remote sites near the border with Mozambique confirmed the presence of light oil gas condensate and helium.
According to the company the results conclusively proves the presence of hydrocarbons in one of the wells
The company said the analyzed samples show a consistent high quality composition of natural gas,and a low inert content of carbon dioxide .
The discovery comes 30 years after US oil giant Exxon Mobil pulled out it's bid to secure crude oil in the region.
This discovery could lead to the first gas production in Zimbabwe and help improve the energy supply of a country suffering from a severe electricity shortage.
