In front of the decks you'd catch him cutting shapes late into the night. You could say on the dancefloor he was smooth as.... ya know... BUTTER! Before slidin' on into Minneapolis, late nights in the local Fargo dance music scene would later influence Shawn to take his next step in his journey with music through life. After moving to Minneapolis, he sought for a similar scene, people, and music.

He plunged head first into all flavors of dance music, but nothing has hooked him quite like the 4 on the floor sounds of house music. It's about the people. The music comes second. Then its the feeling..... The way it can take you and make you just want to move...... and everyone on the floor has their own groove. Drawing inspiration from a variety of House Music giants near and far, Some of his favorite locals include, Larry Peace, and Chuck Love - and of course legends like David Penn, Green Velvet, Purple Disco Machine,
and Riva Starr. You could use the words "Feel Good" "Thumping" or "Disco Inferno" to describe the style, intensity, and vibe of a DJ Butter set. DJ Butter has played for Groove Cruise, Key Elements Ent., Rhyze Ent., and a variety of other local shows and livestreams. Aside from setting a vibe on a dancefloor, DJ Butter's favorite place to spin is with homies, or smaller groups.

Thank you to Backyard Boombox for the opening slot for the first Disko Fever event, I took special consideration in the tracks to give you a mosaic of what vibes you could perhaps expect throughout the night. As always - its about the art.

SO excited to be playing for the very first DISKO FEVER at Modist Brewing on the 30th!

Even though Disco House is one of my favorite flavors of house music, I think this is the first event I'll play where I get to focus in on it, I've been tasting lots of different tracks, and I'm excited to curate a mix for you all once again!

Random Fact: The new event space has a layer of glitter finish on the floor, and a mirror ceiling! I'm excited to see what the AV crew (Interstellar Lighting) cooks up for this!

Super proud of my homies for this one, definitely a certified thumper!!! 🫶🔥

Belgium DJ/Producer 22 Weeks teams up with Minnesota's Indrid and Drew Myself to bring us their brand new EP 'Troubleshoot'. The title track finds the boys trying to figure out the problem with their original vocals pinpointing the issue surrounded by smacking drums, distorted electro bass and fx to boot. Washington State's Wolfstax gave it his twist with a quirky tech remix that also has a bit of acid house sprinkled in, making it a super fun one. On the B-side we have the guys giving us something a bit sweeter to chew on with 'Raffi Taffi' where they treat us to a some groovy low end with effected vocals and saturated synths. Miami super duo Rich DietZ took over remix duties on this one and boy did they deliver with their signature tech house bounce giving their rendition an entire different energy.
