I find it funny how so many people whine about the fact that the U.S. had a slave trade. Why is it that they don’t brag about the fact that the U.S. sacrificed hundreds of thousands of the lives of its own in order to vanquish slavery a mere 100 years after the official inception of the United States? All while other long-established countries continued to struggle with it long after.
Seriously, that’s a dazzling accomplishment. And a profound sacrifice.
I guess there’s no monetary payoff in pride. Only in victimhood.
