Campaign Time: Fintiri Finally Lifts Ban On Sallah, Christmas Homages
Ahead of the 2023 election, governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has finally lifted the ban on paying him homage.
Report to that effect has it that the reversal to the ban on Salah and Christmas homages was sequel to the ease of the effect of the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic worldwide,
Dreaded Covid-19? Didn't the governor impose the ban of paying him faith based festive homages prior to the occupation of Covid?
"Electorates shouldn't be claimed by defective memory for a deception," Alhamdu Lazarus, joining others interviewed would express his thoughts, pointing out that the governor has been avoiding people after the election.
"Those who are used to paying festive homages on the governor's before now lamented that the sitting governor could have considered the generosity he would extend to the guests on homage would be a colossal waste hence decreed against it.
"Why is he reviewing it now? This explains the deception; a campaign strategy.
The political PR strategy is pitiable. When the governor should have wished the Ummah happy first, he's wishing "all Muslims a happy and peaceful Eid-el-fitr" with many days to go. This is likened to the 2023 election campaign at a time the citizenry needs to feel the impact of the dividends of democracy.
