Chillin at Mount Erciyes 🏔

Erciyes, with an elevation of 3916 meters, is a volcanic mountain whose summit is always covered with snow and fog, and has become synonymous with the city of Kayseri 🇹🇷

This lava-spewing mountain, responsible for the 'fairy-chimney' rock formations in nearby Cappadocia, impressed the Meek people living at its base so much that their coins bear an impression of the mountain with lava boiling out of the top. The first person to successfully make the summit was W. J. Hamilton in 1837, and the first Turk was Miralay Cemil Cahit Bey in 1924 🧗‍♀️

Wimbledon Aced 🎾

It was great to be back at the centre court to watch the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world.

Did you know Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam tennis event held on grass?

Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was only a few meters from the finish line, but got confused with the signs and stopped, thinking he had finished the race. BA Spanish man, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him and, realizing what was going on, started shouting to the Kenyan to keep running. Mutai did not know Spanish and did not understand.

Realizing what was going on, Fernandez pushed Mutai to victory.

A reporter asked Ivan, "Why did you do this?" Ivan replied, "My dream is that one day we can have some sort of community life where we push ourselves and also others to win."

The reporter insisted "But why did you let the Kenyan win❓" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win. The race was his."

The reporter insisted and asked again, "But you could have won!" Ivan looked at him and replied: "But what would be the merit of my victory❓ What would be the honor of this medal? What would my Mother think of it❓" The values are transmitted from generation to generation. What values do we teach our children and how much do you inspire others to earn❓ Most of us take advantage of people's weaknesses instead of helping to strengthen them.

Merry Christmas Everyone 🎅🏼🎄

I was fortunate to visit Cristo Rei “Catholic monument and shrine dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ” in Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹

Standing at over 110 metres tall on the opposite bank of the Tejo to Lisbon is Cristo Rei. Built between 1949-59 the statue was inspired by the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, the Catholic Church in Portugal decided to have its own monument to Christ in Lisbon.

Named Cristo Rei (“Christ the King”), the gigantic statue also has its arms opening to the city. The idea came soon after WWII, when Lisbon remained neutral and escaped the bombings that destroyed other European capitals.

It was a way for Catholics to thank God for what they interpreted to be a blessing, and after several years of planning and construction, the monument was finally unveiled in 1959. That was seven years before the inauguration of 25 de Abril Bridge, which can be seen right below it.

The terrace by the monument offers one of the best views of 25 de Abril Bridge

The 25th April Bridge, also known as 25 de Abril Bridge (Ponte 25 de Abril in Portuguese) is the longest suspension bridge in Europe. It has two levels, the top level is for cars and the lower, which was added in 1999 is for trains.

Pont Alexandre III is one of the most iconic bridges that spans the river Seine in Paris.

The architecture is simply stunning. It also offers a great viewing spot of the Eiffel Tower.

This bridge dates from around 1900 and it is one of the sights that are Paris personified.

Pont Alexandre III is best viewed at dawn when the sun shines on the gold. It really is spectacular and I would recommend you to visit one of the most beautiful river crossings in the world once in your lifetime.

Gironde estuary is a biggest estuary in Western Europe!

With a surface area of 600 km², length of 75 kilometres and width of 12 kilometres at its mouth, the Gironde estuary is a getaway between land, river and ocean.

Once a prominent waterway, it remains home to astonishing historical remains: lighthouses, the Blaye citadel, forts.
The estuary is also home to a unique landscape and natural richness marshes, islands, endemic species such as lamprey, wild sturgeon and flora.

A unique and beautiful place that you simply must visit once!
