Do you know what is named as great medicine?

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) belongs to the family Zingiberaceae which is comprised of perennial herbaceous plants. Ginger can be introduced as one of the best-known and most frequently used spice throughout the world. There is an increasing trend of transcending the use of ginger to western societies from its native Southeast Asia.
Ginger has been valued for a long period of time for its culinary and medicinal properties. The chemical composition of ginger rhizomes determines the distinctive taste and the wide array of pharmacological effects. Ginger consists of many potentially bioactive compounds that are responsible for its characteristic organoleptic properties, specifically volatile constituents and non-volatile constituents that impart flavor and pungency respectively.
Ginger is widely used in the food and beverage industry. For example, in preparation of chocolates, jams, marmalades, biscuits, pickles, sauce, ginger-based beverages like ginger ale, ginger beer, and also in curry powder preparation. Ginger can be applied in different forms such as a fresh rhizome or processed into powdered ginger, preserved ginger (in brine or syrup), essential oil, and oleoresin.
Scientific researches provide evidence for multiple health benefits of ginger. Ginger possesses anti-arthritic, anti-migraine, anti-nausea, anti-cancer, anti-microbial, anti-ulcer, and anti-inflammatory properties. Furthermore, ginger is capable of reducing blood sugar levels and blood cholesterol levels which exhibits its anti-diabetic and hypolipidaemic properties. Ginger has proven free radical scavenging activity due to its antioxidative properties. Moreover, ginger is used as a remedy for stomach ache, asthma, respiratory disorders, and menstrual irregularities.
Bottom-line: Ginger is not only one of the most widely used dietary condiments but also an extraordinary herb with a diverse therapeutic value that benefitted people throughout the world.

What is Noni

Morinda citrifolia is a fruit-bearing tree in the coffee family, Rubiaceae. Its native range extends across Southeast Asia and Australasia and was spread across the Pacific by Polynesian sailors. The species is now cultivated throughout the tropics and widely naturalized. Among some 100 names for the fruit across different regions are the more common English names of great morinda, Indian mulberry, noni, beach mulberry, and cheese fruit.
The fresh fruit's strong, vomit-like odor has made it a famine food in most regions, but it remains a staple food among some cultures and has been used in traditional medicine. In the consumer market, it has been introduced as a supplement in various formats, such as capsules, skin products, and juices.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Noni juice suggested uses are for its antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antitumor, analgesic, hypotensive, anti-inflammatory, and immune-enhancing effects.

Noni juice is used to

⦁ Reduce total cholesterol and triglyceride
⦁ Reduce chronic pain, painful inflammation, and swelling (root
extract)
⦁ Treat diabetes (chewing leaves releases and activates soluble
dietary fiber) slows the absorption of simple sugars from the
gut;
⦁ Treat parasitic infections (extract from leaves of Morinda
citrifolia) i.e., intestinal nematodes;
⦁ As an anti-inflammatory and acne reducer when applied
topically; and for cancer: antitumor potential.
