The Emilokan Dilemma.

Whereas one can not say Jagaban is a religious fanatic, one can not for certainty say that he has not been hijacked by some religious fanatics.

Concerned less about the inanities of his wife being a Christian vacuous argument peddled by some of his supporters, one is more about how to set him free from the religious and ethnic bigots from the North who are already holding him by the jugular.

We have seen the hypocrisy of those who will cry blue murder when their faith is 'desecrated' and how they are lending support to ridiculing other people's faith by their active involvement in procuring fake Bishops to give credence to a ticket challenged from inception with all manners of despicable absurdities.

Is Kashim Shettima a checking mate or the running mate of Tinubu's Presidency?. Is he the dilemma of the emilokan ticket?. Is his a yeoman's job that will see power return to the North should their party win?. Time will tell, though the appropriate prayer should be, may God forbid.

Many would not have bothered about a Muslim Muslim ticket had Jagaban chosen a good Muslim who is progressively minded and freed from an inferiority complex that continuously seeks shelter and support from tribe and religion.

Nigerians have voted for a Muslim Muslim ticket before. It is however obvious that had today's Apc happened to Nigeria then, that aborted ticket which did not take its, holders, to the promised land would not have been in the first place.

The problem is not Islam as a religion. The problem is the corrupt political elite who hides under religion and tribe to gain relevance.

None, among the fanatical Christians or Muslims, will help this country. Only the moderate, who understands that loving one's neighbour as oneself is the greatest commandment of God.

Our nation at this time needs leaders who are not challenged emotionally, mentally, physically or intellectually.

We do not need politicians who are challenged in any special way that recourse to their religion or region becomes their only insurance for being relevant. Of the politicians jostling for the office of the President of Nigeria today, none is more suitable than the Obidatti ticket of the labour party. This is particularly so because Nigeria, of a necessity, must break away from the strangle grip of corrupt, incompetent and recycled career politicians.
