What does it mean to submit?
Many times when we are asked to submit we automatically think that it’s all about caring for the other person. Which is correct but to a degree.
“To be submissive is to obey or yield to someone else. When you are submissive, you submit to someone else's will, which literally, you put your own desires lower than theirs.”
When we submit to someone we are basically looking to be a servant not to be served. The problem with society is that MOST want to be served in a relationship. A king might not see the flaw that the servant sees. Let that sink! 🙂
Ephesians 5:22-28
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.[a] 28 In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself
A person who doesn’t FEAR the Lord will be impossible to stay with. We love because the Lord first loves us. We are not perfect, yet we gives us riches and splendors. That kind of love is the love that binds anger, disagreements, pain, sorrow, etc. Don’t just get with just anybody, nah. Ask the Lord to find someone who Values God. It’s very dangerous to unequally yoked with someone because it brings great calamity.
What do you consider to be a submissive person?
