Creating magic with paper 🦋:

Gifts made by hand are more unique than store-bought items. Isn't that right? But, do people truly value them?

Isha Khan, a 20-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh, runs a business that sells handmade gifts and crafts. She had always enjoyed giving handmade cards, gifts, and boxes as a child, but she had no idea that her hobby could become a business. And when one of her cousins suggested starting a page, she mustered all of her courage and did so. She wanted to help her father financially, but as the eldest sister of two, she had to help her mother with household chores, making it difficult for her to manage her business. So she worked late at night to complete her orders, and all her efforts are rewarded when she sees a smile on her customers' faces as a result of her handmade gift.

Even today, there are days when she does not receive orders, and instead, people tell her, "This is not a gift, it is just a piece of paper." "What can you do with a piece of paper?" "It's nothing but a piece of paper." But Isha didn't give up; instead, she worked even harder on her passion, proving to those who say it's just a piece of paper that she's doing something instead of sitting and criticizing others.

She is now a vendor for WedAbout and aspired to build an empire in art and craft.

One piece of advice from Radhika

"Don't worry about what other people or society will think.
You are free to do whatever you want. You should not be known by your family's name, but rather by your own.
Work hard and never stop believing in yourself."

Making it in her teens 💖🦋 .co

People believe that a teenager's life consists of studying, playing video games, and hanging out with friends, but this is not the case for Samar Bakshi. She is only 16 years old and runs a small lip gloss business. She does everything herself, from making the lip gloss to shipping it to customers.
Samar is from Srinagar, where no one believes that lip gloss can be made at home or that a teen can start a business. But she's here to show them how wrong they are.
Lip glosses and the bottles they come in around the world have always piqued her interest. She wished to launch a similar initiative in India as well. So, in seventh grade, she began researching how to make lip glosses, about vendors, quality, and consistency. However, some argue that you should focus on your studies and that your lip gloss business will not benefit you. But she didn't listen to anyone; instead, she focused on her passion, and after three years of research, testing all of the products on herself to ensure their safety, she finally launched her brand "pink baby girl" in March 2021.
However, no one expected a teen to start her own company so, people started commenting like "You are a teen, you cannot do it alone"; "If you don't share your vendor's name or the way you make these lip glosses, we will report you,"; and "You are not giving us a discount, means you are not helpful". They must understand that small business owners are not their servants; rather, they are individuals who are attempting to start something on their own and bring about change in their society. Samar, on the other hand, was simply pursuing her dreams and was unaffected by these messages. Her secret was hard work, dedication, and independent thinking.
Now, she has entered the world of commerce in order to expand her brand and to inspire all teenagers that it is never too early to start a business.

One piece of advice from Nikita ❤:
"Getting out of your comfort zone is difficult. In fact, it can be absolutely scary at times, which is perfectly acceptable. The point is to stop letting fear make your decisions for you and instead take control of them. There's no telling how far you can go in terms of success and happiness once that happens!"

Part 2 :
Because of her dedication and perseverance in achieving her goal, she has taken her page to a new level and is now collaborating with various brands. She is a colourful, full-of-life person, just like her style, who proved that styling means wearing clothes that make you feel beautiful and confident.

One piece of advice from Tanvi :
"Create your own style mantra. Create your own personal statement. Don't chase trends; they will pass you by; instead, invest in some clothing that will last for a long time. And, regardless of what others say, if it's your style, stick with it, enjoy it, and be happy."

Part 1 :
Chic, Casual, Colourful but Comfortable

What is the role of a fashion stylist? Did they alter your personality in any way? Or did they dress you like themselves? Is it possible to work as a stylist if you don't live in a big city? Or Is it true that as a stylist, you can only wear high-end clothing?
Many people believe that becoming a stylist is out of reach, only celebrities' friends or those who dress in expensive clothes can be stylists, and only those who live in metro cities and regularly attend glamorous parties can be good stylists. This isn't the case, though.
Tanvi Trivedi, from a small town in Madhya Pradesh, is proving that stylists aren't just for the rich and famous, but also ordinary people, by creating content for people on how to wear their everyday clothes in multiple ways. Chic, casual, colourful, and comfortable is her motto.
She is a mass media graduate who is not a fashionista. She had never considered a career as a fashion stylist. However, during the 2020 lockdown, she began her page by styling her everyday clothes in unexpected ways. She wasn't regular at first, and she never imagined that people would like her style. Her followers, on the other hand, began to enjoy her content, and many people contacted her to tell her that they admired her style, which they described as "unique and wearable every day," motivating her to continue doing so on a regular basis. But, she didn't have a good phone, tripod, or camera to shoot with at first, making it difficult for her to balance her studies and the page. She was able to do it, however, because she wished to. According to her, if you want to do something, you will do it regardless of what obstacles stand in your way. She enjoyed styling for others. She wanted to motivate people and convey to them that while trends come and go, they should choose an outfit that is comfortable, will never go out of style, and can be worn in a variety of ways. She was never concerned with gaining followers; in her own words, "I am not working to gain followers, but to set a trend that will inspire girls like me.".

Part 2:
On the other hand, she had no one to guide or teach her about these things. But she was not afraid to take this step, so she went to some workshops, completed some certificate courses, learned from YouTube and Instagram, and eventually started her page "Preganest."

People were like, "Ohh physiotherapy: you must do a lot of massages", even after she started her page and did something good for society. In our country, physiotherapists are still regarded as massage walis who do not have the status of a doctor. They must understand that physiotherapists aim to treat the underlying cause of a problem and prevent recurrence rather than providing a "quick fix" such as a massage. Only as a society can we change this mindset and support women in having a healthy pregnancy.

One piece of advice from Shatakshi :
"Take the first step, even if you're scared. This is the step that will lead you to your destination. The step that will make you happy as well as contribute to the growth of society"

Part1:
Preganest : Let's talk about it!

"Shh... don't say that word"; "I couldn't talk about it"; "You weren't careful enough"

During pregnancy or a miscarriage, women frequently hear these phrases. Women always prioritize the needs of others over their own, and they never prioritize their health, exercise, or any other form of relaxation. Nonetheless, they are held responsible for something they did not do.

In an age when the words "pregnancy" and "miscarriage" are considered taboo, Shatakshi, a women's health physiotherapist, is raising awareness about women's health through her social media platform. She has a diploma in nutrition and health education and is a Certified Nutrition and Fitness Consultant. She began by writing skincare blogs but quickly realized that everyone's skin is unique, and what works for her may not work for others. Then she began writing health blogs, and she discovered that many people have misconceptions about pregnancy and miscarriage as a result of this. Many women are unsure of what they should do while pregnant.
Then there are those who blame women for miscarriage, claiming that they lost their baby because she washed her hair on Wednesday or ate outside. All of these things have an impact on women's mental health. Shatakshi wished to change that mindset and raise awareness among all. Pregnancy, according to her, is the beginning of a new chapter in a woman's life. People talk about the obvious changes that a new stage can bring — cravings, fatigue, nausea, and body shape — but there are also situations like vaginal tears, breastfeeding, back pain, and other issues that can make this a difficult time. She wanted to help both expectant mothers and fathers in learning how to help themselves and others during this time of transition. She also wanted to educate mothers about birth deformities such as developmental delays and to show the rest of the world that it isn't their fault.

One piece of advice from Margee ( ):
" Believe in the power of manifestation which means that if you truly believe in something, you will get it regardless of what others say. And since hard work is the key to achieving anything in life, work hard for your goals, and one day you'll see where your life has taken you. Everything happens for a reason, no matter how ups and downs there may be. Just keep going, and you'll reach your goal one day."

Brown girl changing the beauty game!

From being turned down by a brand to having a lipstick named after her. Margee has proven that your skin colour does not define you. A girl who was bullied because of her skin tone is now a two-time TLJ best beauty influencer..

Margee began watching YouTube makeup tutorials at the age of 13 and started wondering, "How will it look on a brown girl?" We live in a world where people still judge you based on your skin colour and decide who can and cannot wear makeup. In many cultures, the concept of beauty is very much focused on the melanocytes in our skin. Without a doubt, lighter skin is greatly admired. Margee wanted to change the perception that makeup isn't just for people with fair skin, but for everyone. She wanted to start her own channel to create content for brown girls and inspire those who want to be makeup artists but can't because of their skin tone. But it wasn't as simple for her as it appears; she has no connections with any brands or anyone who can assist her. Her only asset was her faith in herself.

Finally, in 2014, Margee used her savings to launch her own YouTube channel with the support of her parents. People began to appreciate her content and follow her channel. However, the story does not end here. When she was satisfied with her channel, she applied to work as a makeup artist at Sephora, but she was turned down. Many people told her that "no one will hire you," "you have so few followers," and "you can't do it alone". That was the moment she realized she needed to change the entire makeup scenario. And she created more beauty content, as well as celebrity recreations, on her Instagram page. She soon began working for larger companies such as Nykaa, Lakme, Mac, Loreal, Maybelline, Estee Lauder, and Kay Beauty. She handled everything on her own, from pre-production to post-production. Margee is now happy with her current work and hopes to collaborate with larger brands in the future, such as Dior.
