Many countries around the globe have a national animal and most countries choose an animal that actually exists. As if octopuses weren’t freaky enough with their eight arms, they just got a whole lot weirder. Octopuses have three hearts and nine brains! In addition to the central brain located in their heads, each of their eight arms has a small brain that allows each arm to act independently. Their hearts also serve different purposes. One heart pumps blood throughout the body and the two additional hearts circulate blood to the gills.
