This weekend I saw prayers being answered.

And I was reminded that His timing is always worth the wait.

my new weekly ritual…
baking muffins!

this homemade blueberry recipe is a keeper for sure.

—

1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 cups flour
1 cup milk
1 1/2 cups blueberries

—

Preheat oven to 375ºF
Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Beat the butter on med-high speed until soft and creamy. Add the sugar, and beat.
Add the eggs. Mix in the vanilla.
Add half of the flour and mix on low until combined. Add half of the milk, mix. Repeat with the remaining flour mixture and milk.
Fold in the blueberries.
Scoop into muffin cups.
Bake for 18-22 minutes.

life lately…

♥️ no one prepared me for the way my heart would burst when Jasper read his Bible to me all by himself for the first time!

♥️ that smile of his makes me smile

♥️ writing our wishes for the wishing tree at one of our favorite places

♥️ putting them on the tree

♥️ helping momma get our garden beds planted

♥️ he requested this one be his for digging and playing

♥️ I foresee us spending lots of time here this summer

♥️ God sure blessed me when he brought this lady .defir into my life

♥️ obviously grateful for raw milk and chocolate fried pies

♥️ and super grateful for our amazing .marketing.studio clients and their amazing biscuits and gravy

Joy. Pure joy.
That’s what I’ve felt today.

I’ve felt my heart celebrating every big and little thing today.

The beautiful sunrise that I woke Jasper up to see.
My first and second cups of coffee.
Seeing my flowers growing on our way out the door this morning.
The undeniable ways God is moving and making things happen.
The growth that I feel in my confidence at work.
The smile on my face that I couldn’t get rid of even if I wanted to.
I didn’t know one day could hold so much joy.

But the truth is that there is as much joy in each day as I allow myself to feel. So here’s to feeling all the joy from here on out!

On a day that hits me hard every year, this little boy of mine never stops filling me with so much joy!

Today is his little brothers 4th birthday.

Every year to celebrate, we bake cookies and talk about how cool it would be if we could send them up to heaven!

And then we do it again for his little sister’s birthday in August.

We both miss them so much and can’t wait for the day when we all get to celebrate together!

But until then I will count it all joy ♥️ James 1:2

Here’s you a fun lil fact about me for your Friday night…

I grew up traveling all over the southern states camping out on historical battlefields because my daddy did civil war re-enactments!

(yes, just like on Sweet Home Alabama)

We got to dress the part, stay in canvas tents, and ditch pretty much all modern conveniences for a weekend…

and I absolutely loved it!

I couldn’t pass up this record when I saw it because of all those sweet memories!

In the past couple years I’ve went through some pretty significant changes.

Changes that I didn’t really understand…

changes that I thought might do me in for good…

changes that tested my faith.

But I can now see that God used these changes to change me.

He taught me to trust Him even when I don’t understand…

He taught me that my strength comes from Him…

and He taught me that He is always faithful!

cute green table is going in the loft/guest room/home office…

lil boot planter has been working great as a vase because I’m not sure what I want to plant in it just yet…

Jasper picked out the tic-tac-toe game and we’ve gotten good use outta it…

the gun rack is the only thing I didn’t find there (it came from daddy and momma’s storage building)…

but it doesn’t fit in Jasper’s room so gotta find a plan b for that!

It’s become somewhat of a Sunday tradition for me to whip up a batch of sausage balls for the week…

sure makes for a quick and easy breakfast in the mornings!

The original recipe is from my talented friend 👏🏻👏🏻

I had to alter it just a bit to suit our diet for keeping Jasper’s allergies under control…

but my goodness are they delicious!

And how perfect do they look on my serving board?!

If I had to pick one word to sum up how I’m feeling, it would be joyful. Thank you, Lord, for backroad dancing, hayfields & sunsets, and all the joy You have brought into my life!

I have been waiting for so long to get this project done… I thought about so many different ways for how I could close in the front of my porch… initially I wanted to do wood, but didn’t love the idea of upkeep or how much it would cost… so I went with free tin that I was able to put up by myself in just a couple hours… the best part is that it is tin that was salvaged from the old farmhouse that I grew up in… now my old home will always be a part of my new home ♥️

There ain’t nothin’ that a little bit of home refreshing can’t cure for me! Outside might not feel quite like spring yet, but the inside sure is ☀️ I’m usually not one for a lot of bright color, but the colors in these records are sure making me happy when the skies are gray! I’ve got the itch to do some flea market shopping… so I thought I’d share my latest trip to @antiquealleyar with y’all again! They had so many great vendors… and so many unique treasures! Make sure you follow them to keep up with their upcoming show schedule✨

Alright y’all… here is a sneak peek at Jasper’s bedroom… this project has taken me longer than I planned, but we’re almost there! When I started I had this genius idea for my @fringescarves shower curtain… and it works just perfect as the curtain for his window! He thinks it’s awesome too, so #momwin! Now once I get the bathroom renovation done I’m going to have to snag another one… I don’t think he’s going to turn loose if this one!

BLESSED… There is no other way to describe how I’m feeling after today and it’s all thanks to God! I started my day with my appointment to file my taxes and ended it with a flat tire and having to order two new ones. What sounds like an awful day was actually so dang good! God just continues to provide and care for Jasper and I in ways that leave me in tears. He heard my prayers and He answered in ways that I never expected. Blessed indeed!

The moment when you realize God is answering your prayers! It may not happen when or how we think it should, but He is working. I wrote out and prayed on Jeremiah 29:11 this morning and I can already see God making things happen. He promises a future and a hope! Never stop praying…I promise, He hears you!
