ANNOUNCEMENT: I am very excited to announce that The Indie Critics of America will be accepting critics who post exclusively to the Letterboxd App into the association as members. Please read the full release below.
"The Indie Critics of America" recognizes that Letterboxd is becoming a legitimate forum for film reviewing and critique, we also recognize that many film critics are honing their craft and “Getting started” on this platform. As such the IFCA does not want to exclude these critics from membership but give them a path to begin working towards FULL voting membership in the IFCA and mentorship to move into publishing their film reviews. Overall the IFCA wants to help these burgeoning critics in networking and learning about the film critic world.
Thus the Board of directors is very excited to offer a “Letterboxd Tier” of membership, this tier has been created for those new critics who are demonstrating talent and vision in their Letterboxd reviews and who have completed Letterboxd reviews based on the following criteria.
- Have a minimum of 50 Letterboxd reviews for film or TV in the last year
- Each review must be a minimum of 200-300 words
- Reviews should show an understanding and study of filmmaking and demonstrate critical breakdowns of films themes
- Reviews should be clean and as free of typos and errors as possible

Check out the editorial below where the IFCA's own Board Member Don Shanahan is mentioned twice! Congrats Don

Critics say Pixar's Toy Story-adjacent space romp is gorgeous and fun, even if it doesn't reach the studio's greatest heights, and a scene-stealing Sox the cat will be everyone's new favorite sidekick.
