Our hearts are broken by the horrific attack on a Muslim family in London, Ontario, which left four family members dead and a 9 year-old child with serious injuries.

Canada is not Canada without its vibrant Muslim community. We join Jewish Canadians across the country in solidarity with our Muslim neighbours to affirm: An attack on any of us is an attack on all of us. No Canadian should live in fear because of any aspect of their identity.

There must be zero tolerance for Islamophobia and we expect the perpetrator to face the full weight of the law.

Our prayers remain with the victims, their families, and Muslim Canadians.

Eli Dasa, an Israeli player for Vitesse, called this “sickening.” As an Ethiopian Jew, is no stranger to racism and antisemitism.

A Nightmare On Wilkes Avenue AKA - The Day of My Neuter
A poem by Oscar

On the morn of my neuter,
I had not a clue;
I woke up same as always and thought
My life’s too good to be true!

Did the morning routine,
Then, snuggles and kisses all around;
One thing was odd –
My food was not to be found.

Mom got dressed early and said,
“Let’s go for a ride!”
I jumped right up to go,
And matched her stride for stride.

A short trip to the vet,
Oh I know this place!
All the people just love me,
And have smiles on their face(s). When they came to greet me,
I gave the best wiggle butt of the year;
I knew they love me –
Wait! Mom, you’re leaving me here?

Um, this is no longer fun,
I’m no longer amused;
Then I went in a room,
And woke up dazed and confused.

Then I heard their voices,
Though my head was all a twirl;
Mom and Dad came back to get me,
And all was right in my world!

Ahhh, home sweet home,
Oh, I have to answer nature’s calls,
Then I looked down below,
“Mom, what happened to my balls?” I can’t keep my eyes open,
It’s sleep time it seems;
I hope when I awaken,
It will have been a bad dream!
