We left profound memories behind in our old press club building at Tennis Court Itanagar. With the new building, inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu ji on 16 November commemorating , Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists embarks on a new journey. We resolve to be firm and resilience as ever.

The state’s press community officially returned the old Arunachal Press Club building to the environment, forest & climate change department today. The APC had been functioning from the temporary building since 14 May, 1995. APUWJ President Amar Sangno accompanied by APC General Secretary Damien Lepcha and APUWJ GS, Sonam Jelly handed over the official letter to the PCCF, Itanagar.
Let’s remember heroes of our nation who laid their lives for our today, who made this country foundation strong, who made this nation resilient, resolute,tolerant and harmonious.
Marking World Press Freedom Day, the APUWJ submitted a 7-point memorandum pertaining to working journalists and press freedom issues to Home & IPR minister Bamang Felix today at his official residence.
We resolve to maintain a strong & vibrant media, and uphold the principles of unbiased and ethical journalism.

The state media community deeply condoles the demise of Mrs Echu Gapak, mother of Appu Gapak, senior journalist and treasurer of the APC & APUWJ. We pray for the eternal peace of the deceased and strength for our colleague, Appu Gapak.
In a historic development, the Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists in collaboration with the Arunachal Press Club is organising the National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting of the Indian Journalists Union at Itanagar on 12 January 2022.
Hon'ble CM Pema Khandu and Hon'ble Minister Home, IPR Bamang Felix will attend the event.
This will be the first time that Arunachal Pradesh will host the NEC of the IJU, the apex body of journalists in India & one of the only two journalists organisations in the country recognised & affiliated to the IFJ - International Federation of Journalists headed by President Geetartha Pathak & Secretary General Sabina Inderjit.
The APUWJ is deeply shocked and saddened to learn that Dr. Chama Manpoong, mother of our Gender Council Convenor, Nellie Manpoong has passed away an hour ago at her private residence in Naharlagun. We extend deep condolences on her untimely demise. May her soul rest in peace.

A team of the state’s media, led by APC president Dodum Yangfo & APUWJ president Amar Sangno visited Rowmari (Assam), the native village of journalist Late Mintu Tamuli, today to pay floral tributes to the departed soul. Tamuli died yesterday at Rama Krishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar due to cardiac arrest.
Shocked and saddened to announce our comrade Mintu Tamuli, a reporter with Arunbhoomi, local Hindi daily is no more. He has passed away just an hour ago due to cardiac arrest.
Indian Medical Association-Arunachal State Branch has felicitated the APUWJ in recognition to its service and contribution in fight against Covid-19 on occasion of Doctor’s Day Celebration 2021. The sincerely thank IMA, AP for the recognition.

The state media fraternity is shocked to learn that Arunachal Today’s reporter, Jason Khangthing passed away this evening in his line of duty. Jason was reportedly returning to Miao after visiting the Miao-Vijoynagar Road on recce.
He met with an accident at Mpen, about 6 kms from Miao town. He was riding pillion on a motorbike that his uncle was driving. He was rushed to Dibrugarh in a very serious condition where he passed away.
Khangthing was a promising journalist who had yet to realise his full potential. His death has left us with a void that cannot be filled. At this time of sorrow, our prayers are with the family members. Jason Khangthing 😭😭😭

Paid tribute to late Runu Tamuli, mother of the APUWJ's & the APC's Assist. IPR Secy. Mintu Tamuli at New Rowmari, Bihali in Assam. Late Runu Tamuli passed away on 24 Feb at the Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh.
Wherever you are, be happy sir. We dearly miss you on your 59th Birthday. Happy Birthday legend.
