Tejas, Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) LSP-7 successfully fired the ASTRA indigenous Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air-to-air missile off the coast of Goa on August 23. The missile release was successfully carried out from the aircraft at an altitude of about 20,000 ft. All the objectives of the test were met and it was a perfect textbook launch.

Achut Das, Lot Mandal of the office was caught red handed in presence of independent witnesses immediately after he accepted Rs.5,000/- as part of demanded bribe from the complainant in the name of processing Mutation works of the complainant.

A huge cache of illegal cough syrups worth Rs 4 crore was seized at -Tripura border area in Karimganj district, officials said.

According to police, 61,000 bottles were found in a truck that Karimganj police stopped in the Churaibari neighborhood near the inter-state border.

On the basis of tip off, the police of Borkhola police station managed to seize about ten quintals of illegal Burmese betel nuts by searching a 407 truck near Balacherra tollgate on the wee hours of Friday. Along with it, the driver Ali Ahmed Barabhuia was arrested for his involvement in the smuggling.

A team from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam trapped Nayan Barman, owner of a computer shop near the office of the Circle Officer, Tihu for accepting bribe of Rs. 5000/- in conspiracy with Debashish Barman, Lot Mandal of Tihu Revenue Circle for land related matters.
In the same trap, Debashish Barman, Lot Mandal of Tihu Revenue Circle, Distt. Nalbari has been apprehended for demanding bribe and for accepting it through Nayan Barman, a Dalal.

Chinese developer Broad Group has built a 10-storey residential building in Changsha city in just over 28 hours!
They used pre-made parts that were built in factory, brought to the site on trucks, and then stacked up using cranes like giant Lego pieces. They connected everything and even added electricity, water and Furniture.
The company says the building can withstand earthquake and can even be taken apart and moved somewhere else.

SI(UB) Nizam Uddin Bhuyan of the Police Station was caught red handed immediately after he accepted Rs.5,000/- from the complainant in the name of giving relief to the complainant and his family members in a criminal case.
Subsequently, Home Guard Lal Chand Ali of the same PS was also apprehended for conspiring with SI(UB) Nizam Uddin Bhuyan in the case.
