"The strength of online is you can connect with people anywhere, everywhere, all the time" -

I just published an article about my conversation with Jay Kranda, Online Campus Pastor of Saddleback Church.

I'm tired of churches failing to do digital well. Jay shares how you can treat your digital presence like a Campus and the opportunities you have to bring others to Jesus.

Your church can have an impact beyond your local community.

If you desire to evangelize, you should have a digital content plan. By creating Kingdom-advancing Content, you can offer hope to people who wouldn't find it otherwise.

Don't overcomplicate it. Repurposes sermons. Make videos. Do whatever it takes to tell people about Jesus.

It's time for your church to take SEO seriously. To do that, you have to understand the terminology.

So I made a few quick definitions for you to commit to memory.

Need some content inspiration for your church?

Ask your staff, lead volunteers, small group leaders, etc, their favorite {restaurant, event, etc} in your city.

Compile that into a blog (for SEO benefits) and a carousel (or even a reel) for engagement.

People want to be involved in your content. Give them the chance.

Church SEO is not about

> ranking #1 for “church near me”
> having a stellar Google Business Profile
> having “church in {city}” all over the website

That stuff can help, sure.

But real Church SEO is about

> evangelizing to those online
> giving hope to those looking for it
> discipling people who crave more of Jesus

If your church wants to be found for more than just “church near me,” let’s talk.

3 problems my client has to deal with after working with me:

We published a new website in February.

Fresh design.
Updated SEO.
The works.

Since then their traffic has doubled. (They also have gone through a leadership change).

But, they now have these three problems:

1. Parking. More new guests come every Sunday. And they’re returning. The parking is getting tight and tensions are rising.

2. Services. They are having to ask people to attend another service because it’s getting full.

3. Resources. A few weeks ago they had a baptism Sunday. They ran out of dry shirts and towels (but people still publicly declared their Faith anyway). 107 people got baptized. (Praise God!)

God used the digital seeds to reap this kind of harvest. And he can do the same for your church.

If you’re ready to invest in long-term church growth, let’s start working together to expand the Kingdom.

I just repurposed the 10th sermon for my client, and here's what I've learned so far:

- People are hungry for Biblical, Gospel-centered content online
- People are willing to engage in sermons after Sunday.
- Repurposed sermon blog posts increase website traffic (and when done well, it increases in-person attendance).

Now, I've made it easier to get your sermons repurposed. You can order a sermon to be repurposed.

Grow your church. Increase discipleship. And expand the Kingdom.

Last year I quit my job as a Senior Website Consultant for small businesses.

I wanted to help churches, primarily through creating content.

I got a few leads and one client.

But during my interactions with them, I learned something:

What churches really need (first) is an awesome website.

I was intimidated by all the larger, more established church marketing and website companies. So I was nervous about doing websites.

Until I remembered that I've designed and written content for over 915 websites.

So I'm excited to let y'all know that I'm now helping churches create websites!

If you're a pastor or know a pastor who is tired of their church's website, let's talk! I'd love to help (link in comments).

This man threatened me last year.

When I got the itch to build my business, I knew wanted to help churches.

I found Mark, THE church branding guy, on LinkedIn.

I did what LI influencers said:
- I engaged with his content for a while
- I sent him a DM to connect further

Then we had a Zoom chat about what I’m building. My original idea was called Evangelize Digital.

I mentioned something about being “like a content pastor.”

“You know The Content Pastor dot com is available.” Mark said.

Then his threat.

“And if you don’t buy it today, I will tomorrow.”

That subtle recommendation shifted my whole thinking.

People now ask me:
- “How’d you find your niche?
- “What is a content pastor?”
- “How’d you get into church content?”

All because this friendly Canadian gave this scatter-brained Texan a loving threat.

P.S. He really likes Hot Dogs.

I’m excited to announce that I published my first book: Free to Be! 📖

Well, I actually published it 3 years ago today, right before the pandemic shut everything down.

The book is for Christians who want to dive deeper into a relationship with God. While I wrote it primarily for young adult/college Christians, it’s applicable to people of all ages.

I'm thrilled to reshare it on Facebook with y'all.

The book is available on Amazon and you can purchase it before the price increases on March 3.

How to read the Bible:

Old way

- Listen to the preacher on Sundays
- Watch the occasional video
- Skim when you need validation, encouragement, or to be cheered up

New Way

- Transcribing Scripture word for word
- Look up different translations
- Share what you learn

You don’t need a degree in seminary to talk about God’s Word. All you need is a desire to want to know it.

That’s why I decided to write my first devotional.

The first entry goes live tomorrow! Sign up to receive notifications in the comments.
