After withdrawing Rs. 500 from an ATM in the Saddar area, a woman from Karachi claimed to have received a fake bank note. She claimed that the bogus bank note had the message "Bachoon ka Khel [Just for kids to play]" printed on it.

The woman apparently brought up the issue with the employees of the private bank, but the management declined to handle her complaint. The afflicted woman also made a post on social media to alert people to the spread of fake notes in Karachi.

Karachi ranked first and Lahore second most polluted city in Pakistan on the Air Quality Index (AQI).

On the scale used to assess air pollution, Karachi has the unpleasant distinction of rising to second from the top among the world's most polluted cities.

The air quality index determined that Karachi has 169 dangerous particle matter. It should be noted that AQI readings between 150 and 200 are deemed unhealthy, those between 201 and 300 are more dangerous, and those over 300 are classified as highly dangerous.

The smoke produced by factories and by burning coal, garbage, oil or tyres enters the atmosphere and the effects of this appear at the onset of winter and remain till the season’s end, experts said.

By-polls for seven NA seats and local body elections in Karachi will occur as scheduled, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECPannouncement ).

The ECP announced that the second round of local body elections in Karachi will take place on October 23 and that by-elections for seats in the national and provincial assemblies would be held on October 16.

At a meeting of the ECP held in Islamabad under the direction of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, a decision in this regard was made.

NA-22 Mardan, NA-24 Charsadda, NA-31 Peshawar, NA-108 Faisalabad, NA-118 Nankana Sahib, NA-237 Malir, and NA-239 Korangi Karachi are among the seats where by-elections will be placed.

Friday's early trade in the interbank market saw the Pakistani rupee add 2.24 paise to its recent gains against the US dollar.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan, the exchange rate for the local currency at ten in the morning was Rs219.7 to one US dollar (FAP). This represents a 1% increase from the close of Rs. 221.94 yesterday.
After dropping as low as Rs239.94 on September 22, the rupee has gained Rs17.77 (7.41%) in the last 10 sessions.

The England Cricket Board (ECB) thanked Pakistan on Monday for hosting their team after a 17-year absence.
Pakistan lost the final T20I against England by 67 runs, bringing the seven-match T20I series to a close.

"Thank you, Pakistan," wrote the England Cricket Board. After 17 years of anticipation, a fantastic cricket series and a warm welcome from the people of this country."

The cricketers also thanked Pakistan for inviting the team and for providing a safe environment.
