This picture came up on my memories....I can't believe that this year will be my 9th year homeschooling (if you count preschool lol). Playdough, Do a dots and these Lakeshore Learning trays are still a staple in our room!!!

WELL THAT FAILED! I've offically figured out the best way to shelve books!
I complained about needing more shelf space so I had recommendations to stack horizontally (AHHHHHHH CAN'T DO THAT, THAT'S SACRILEGIOUS! The pressure on the books would add to my daily stress lol)
Someone suggested to then stack them forwards....huh...ok!
So I gave it a try! IT DIDN'T WORK! I was left with so many more books that didn't fit the shelf. So there is your answer! The best way to shelve books...vertical and spines out!

WONDERFUL COOP GAME!
My youngest (5yr old) even played with us without much help.
Flashpoint was 1 of many new games from Christmas!
We of course thought a lot and prayed for all those suffering due to the Marshall Fire. It is so real how something like downed power lines caused such destruction. We are definitely forming a "go bag" and planning a fire plan for the new house asap!

Not unpacked yet but little man is still doing school....sorting his animals, even putting aquatic animals in the bath (THANK GOODNESS NO WATER)! Who says you have to be ready to start your school year...hahahaha...yep not lying..freaking out slightly over not being prepared and planned out for the year yet.

Do you homeschool in the summer?? Well we are this year! Usually we don't, but we didn't do any school time in the month of March or most of April. Tablets/computer/tv became their education...and if you know me by now, you'll know that drove me crazy...I am very hands on learning! Fixing up a house and moving will suck the time right from you! So I decided we will school 2-3 days a week only focusing on math and language and then they got to pick an extra. P picked Spanish, C and N picked Typing! P has been getting real world math in the form of loan/equity/budget discussions in purchasing a new home. Math is all kid led, they tell me a problem, I write it down and they solve! For language, we are writing letters, stories and proofreading. If you are summer schooling, let me know what that looks like for you!

This girl is flying through math!! Our math lessons are self made using these math manipulatives...can't do without them!! I introduce a concept 1 day, day 2 we do a journal page, day 3 and 4 is independent centers and day 5 (game days! so nothing lol)

I present to you the new rover designs of 2021: Zero, Strong and Jackson! These are the AWESOME FINAL Mars Rover Projects! Under each picture is a description of the rovers each of my kiddos made! They came up with the names (I added the acronyms!) and they came up with the purpose (I added some fun lol)!
