2) Improved immunity: As immune systems typically weaken with age, the presence and support of families ultimately contributes to the strengthening of immunity.
3) Boost mental health - Regular interactions with family members and the reassurance of being cared for can significantly reduce feelings of depression and contribute to a more positive mental well-being.
4) Assure life satisfaction: love, support, and encouragement from family members has the power to elevate self-esteem and confidence, fostering a more optimistic perspective on life.

This week I’m talking about #exerciseroutine and #physical_fitness
I am pretty active but I also know that in #midlife we have to be more gentle on our bodies and that is something I am becoming more conscious of.
Michelle encouraged me to join her #yogapractice and #pilatesclasses after feeling huge benefits.
We aim to get in at least 2/3 sessions a week as they have definitely made a positive impact on our overall feeling of physical and mental wellness.
We know it’s not always easy to make it to classes but even a good paced walk in nature can make the biggest difference to how we feel - do you agree?

DO YOU BEAT YOURSELF UP? I DO!We’re endlessly bombarded with what we should be doing to improve our lives. By midlife we are, on the whole, set in our ways so making changes can be extra difficult. Keeping things real to you, realistic to your lifestyle and realistic in terms of timescale is crucial if you want to feel and enjoy the benefit of your efforts. Remember even if you have a wobble, that’s ok! The key is to do what works for YOU not what works for others. Do you agree? Week 7 and it’s 8th April 2024…..this past week I’ve been inspired by the news of John Tinniswood, who at 111 and 224 days was declared the world’s oldest man. He was born in Liverpool and lives close by.
I love the fact that he comes across as a normal sort of man who has enjoyed good things in life. He also likes a good conversation. In my video I mention some of the tips and advice that he has used to explain his long and healthy years.
If you are going to live to 100, let me know something that you will need to do (or not do!) to reach that goal in good health like John.

WHAT WERE YOU DOING 15 YEARS AGO?
On 3rd February 2009, Liverpool born, Honorary Royal Marine Colonel, Andy Grant, was blown up in Afghanistan alongside fellow Royal Marine, Iain Syme.
Andy was just 20 years old when he suffered 27 horrific injuries, was in a coma for 2 weeks, and then told he could no longer have children.
Tough rehabilitation followed before he made the agonising decision to have his seriously injured leg amputated.
As a result of his incredible mindset and resilience Andy he has gone on to become;
· World record holder as the fastest single leg amputee over 10km
· Double gold medal winner at Prince Harry’s Invictus Games going on to run marathons, learning to ski and surf and conquering the highest of mountains.
Despite being told he could never have children, he is the proud father of his “greatest achievement”, his beautiful daughter, Alba.
Andy’s story is documented in his superbly-titled book “You’ll Never Walk” and begins age 12, when he faced life without his beloved mum when she passed away.
Andy shares beautifully how his mum and family have been, and continue to be, his main source of strength throughout his immense challenges.
As an accomplished motivational speaker, Andy inspires people of all ages around the world to believe that anything is possible.
If there is a story to make us get us off our backsides to walk on and live life to the max, it’s this one.
