Taste of Lincoln Avenue 2023

In a city of street fests, one would be hard-pressed to find one more iconic than the 39th annual Taste of Lincoln Avenue.

And like a fine wine it has aged well over the years. It offers lots of fun things beyond its many food, arts/crafts and other vendors.

Local food favorites that you’ve definitely missed over the last year.
Arts & crafts galore!

2023 Art on Clark

Sheffield Garden Walk

After a Covid-induced hiatus, the Sheffield Neighborhood Association is thrilled to announce that the Sheffield Garden Walk is BACK for the 52nd year!

They are returning to their roots (no pun intended) by Partying Like It’s 1969, the year of the very first Sheffield Garden Walk. Back in the Summer of Love, some green-thumbed neighbors wanted to draw attention to the beauty of the community, and the Sheffield Garden Walk was born. In 2023, the neighborhood is just as beautiful, and after a few pretty solitary years, it’s time to connect with neighbors again.

This is an event by neighbors for neighbors, so they need your help! Please check out their website to sign up your garden, volunteer, or donate.

Scheduled for select Thursdays throughout the months of July and August, “Sounds of Summer” is free to attend and will highlight and support a local non-profit who will receive 100% of sales from beverages sponsored by Constellation Brands in addition to raffles and donations.

Sensory-Friendly Day at Farm-in-the-Zoo, Sunday, July 30, a free, timed-entry event.

On Sunday, July 30 from 10am to 3pm, Lincoln Park Zoo will host Sensory-Friendly Day at Farm-in-the-Zoo. Modifications include limited capacity. This is a free event, but it does require advanced registration.

Sensory-Friendly Day at Farm-in-the-Zoo is a free program for all people who benefit from visiting the zoo without crowds and other sensitive environmental elements. This includes guests with sensory sensitivities, disabilities, autism, PTSD, and dementia to name a few.

During Sensory-Friendly Day at Farm-in-the-Zoo animal buildings may be open, but some animals may not be in their public viewing spaces. There will also be low sensory activities.

Visit Clark Street to see Professor of Illustration Cheri Lee Charlton capturing the urban landscapes of Clark Street. She will be painting and drawing scenes of Clark Street on Saturday, July 8 and Saturday, July 22 from 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. and then 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Feel free to watch the artist work, ask questions about the process, or sit down at the easel next to the artist and learn a few drawing techniques from the artist. Join sound meditation facilitator Jay Taylor for a series of immersive sound experiences and meditations outside at the iconic Peoples Gas Education Pavilion at Nature Boardwalk. For a fun twist, a different local collaborator will join each session, making each of the four offerings unique.
