BOOK REVIEW: IKIGAI
IKIGAI: the Japanese secrete to a long and happy life is a cute little read: D with a very pretty baby blue title cover and a motivational statement written on it that can easily attract a person who has a habit of picking books without reading their reviews. I like the concept of a book which surrounds the word IKIGAI that literally means – everyone has a purpose in life that helps them jump out of the bed every morning.
The writer claims that this book will become an inspiring, comforting, and life-changing tool for the reader that can help in finding the IKIGAI. If someone wants to find answers to the questions like, How to find out your actual passion? How to nurture friendship and purpose in life? and how to become less anxious in life? then this book is actually written for that person.
My point of view:
In my view, the core philosophy of IKIGAI was not comprehensive enough and the writer did not explain the term “IKIGAI” actually in the right way rather it seems frustrating for me as I find the writing disorganized. If you are new to IKIGAI, looking for a decent intro to it, this is definitely not your book.
I would like to give it 5 out of 10 as I like the message of the book and the whole concept but I found the book focused more on longevity and how centenarians claim they were able to live so long. I believe the writer did not have a flow. In this matter, if I ever wanted to read more about the term IKIGAI, I would rather choose any other book.
