My Why……

The Afro-Verse Chronicles were born out of a deep-seated passion for celebrating the rich and diverse tapestry of African culture, history, and mythology, and weaving these into the captivating genres of afrofantasy and afrofuturism. In a world where African stories are often overlooked or told through a foreign lens, it became imperative to create a platform that would not only highlight these stories, but infuse them with speculative fiction, thereby bridging the gap between the past, present, and future.

By using interactive storytelling methods and incorporating engaging elements such as poetry and animation, the Afro-Verse Chronicles strives to connect a global audience with the magic of African narratives. These stories do not only aim to entertain, but also educate and inspire, giving a fresh perspective on African heritage while fostering a sense of pride and identity among Africans, both on the continent and in the diaspora.

Tales of the Griot: The Time Traveling Griot

In the heartland of Africa,
under the baobab's grace,
Resided a griot, a storyteller,
with a time-worn face.
His kora sang songs
of the old and the new,
For he was a traveler,
through time he flew.

Born of the soil
where the Niger River flows,
The griot bore witness
to time's throes.
With a strum on his kora,
a cosmic gate born,
To past,
to present,
to future,
to weave,
to narrate.

Through epochs he traveled,
stories to compile,
His words painted history,
mile after mile.
Pharaohs and Queens,
Empires' rise and fall,
He'd seen it all,
he'd seen it all.

Verse 1:

In the glow of the twilight,
with stars overhead,
He strummed a melody,
a future thread.
The gates of time opened,
a future unseen,
A world of steel and glass,
with a neon sheen.

Skyscrapers towering,
where once were trees,
The roar of machines,
in the evening breeze.
Futuristic cities,
technology rife,
The griot landed,
in a new life.

As the griot stepped forth,
into this new age,
He held two paths,
like an open page.
In his heart a question,
an unvoiced plea,
The tale's next turn,
his audience decree.

Option 1: Should the griot explore the futuristic city, becoming part of its bustling life and chaos?

Option 2: Or should he seek the remnants of nature, finding solace in the echoes of the past within the future's rush?
