Finding the perfect balance of confidence and comfort with ✨

If only we judged ourselves less and reflected more 🌱

Self-reflection is similar to looking into a mirror and describing what you observe, but involves looking inward at yourself to grow and evolve as a more fulfilled person. Starting off in the social media space left me feeling self-judgmental about my insecurities for the first few years, whether that’s my fupa, stretch marks, invisible illnesses, inconsistent weight, or even my ears. When I started my diagnostic journey for my medical conditions I hit a turning point with my mental health and cannabis use; it was time to utilize the many benefits of this plant in order to grow myself. In the past year I’ve noticed an increase with my ability to stay focused while safely healing past traumas in order to reflect on my current behaviors and patterns… and let my tell you it’s made all the difference in how I view myself and the world around me.

Cannabis has the power to re-root our mindset into something that we may only dreamed of, how has cannabis helped you in your self-reflection journey?

April was a whirlwind of crazy moments that combined to create such a beautiful journey. My partner and I moving out of our first house was bittersweet, but such a wonderful decision… we feel at home in our new place and gives us a chance for many more adventures!

Broken but beautiful 🦋

April is adenomyosis awareness month, a time where information is shared about this condition many don’t speak of (which is ridiculous). Adenomyosis is a condition where the tissue that normally lines the uterus (the tissue shed each month) grows into the muscular wall of the uterus itself still behaving how it normally would by thickening and bleeding each month just inside the muscular tissue of the organ. Labor-like pains combined with someone internally lighting your lower abdomen on fire while clawing their way out of your body & being so bloated you look six months pregnant, but 🥦 only helps a fraction of the time is not a way to live. Sounds painful right… well, you’re definitely spot on.

There is nothing you can do about adenomyosis, there’s no pill or vaccine that stops the debilitating symptoms and pain… it’s just something you have to live with until your quality of life slowly diminishes or until a doctor finally believes your pain and doesn’t attribute it to “part of being a woman”. I never thought I’d end up with a diagnosis for my pain and symptoms, especially after being told I was imagining it, even if walking was too painful for days on end each month. After 15 years of searching for answers, 5 years of debilitating pain and symptoms, 3 years of pushing for something to be done, 4 types of birth control, and countless doctors… I’ve gotten an answer & scheduled my uterus’s eviction date (hysterectomy); I couldn’t be more excited to have my life back. I completely stand by my decision and I don’t expect anyone to understand it, but I’ve lost my life to this condition for too long to not try everything in order to have some normalcy again.

I hope sharing my journey will help normalize talking about reproductive pain and help someone out there know that they aren’t alone and the pain they feel is valid & real. Never give up on advocating for yourself, you matter! 💕
