Happy International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.

This years theme: “Our Bodies, Our Lives, Our Rights”

A great theme under which many forms of advocacy are possible: claiming our rights to live our sexualities and to express our gender(s) freely, but also demanding to be from physical violence, from conversion so-called “therapies” to forced sterilisation of Trans and Intersex people.

A theme that reminds us that many of us across the world live LGBTQI-phobias in their very flesh every day and that our bodies are being abused, ruining our lives. Our bodies are our lives. And we have a right to live free and in dignity!

Have Your Say... Enrol To Vote!

The date has just been announced May 21st, if you are eligible, it's important to register or update your details so that your vote counts. You need to enrol to vote or update if:
- You will be 18 years old by election day and you are an Australian citizen.
- You have changed your address or name since the last election.
- You have become an Australian citizen.

If you’re not on the roll, or your details are not up to date, you can’t vote! And worse still, you could get a fine. So do the right thing and enrol now to have your say!

Trans Day of Visibility was started by activist Rachel Crandall in 2009 as a reaction to the lack of recognition of trans people, noting that the only well known gender diversity centered day was the Trans Day of Remembrance, a day of mourning.

TDOV was created as a day to acknowledge and celebrate living members of the transgender community. International Transgender Day of Visibility has been held on March 31 ever since!
