What’s in a name?

I founded this page and podcast to highlight the everyday heroes of animal rescue work and their real stories. Animal rescue pages are often completely focused on the animals (as they should be!), but there are dozens of real people behind the scenes and we don’t often get to hear their personal stories and experiences in animal rescue work. Many people often ask me how I do it. Well, this is how rescue workers do it!

Like many service positions and careers, rescue workers/volunteers can become burned out and suffer from compassion fatigue. They see the very worst in the world, often, and then don’t usually get a chance to process what they see. It is my hope that this page and podcast will give voice to the human element involved in animal rescue.

So join us, laugh and cry with us, and learn all about what it’s like to live a day in the life of an animal rescuer.
